How can boys and girls be best friends? That's a question they were asked their whole life, whether it was asked by people their age, younger or older. Sometimes they ask themselves that too, 'how did we become friends?'
Delilah: Hey, Arthur.
Arthur: Yeah, brown eyes?
Brown eyes. His nickname for her ever since she could remember. She likes it. No, she loved it. God knows why but she does.
Delilah: How did we become friends? Cause I can't think of a single thing we have in common- And isn't that what friendships should be about?
Arthur: Well- we may not have anything in common, I mean- you like music, arts and those kinds of things and I'm more of a sports guy, but yeah... I guess we just... Clicked.
Delilah (unamused): Clicked?
Arthur: Yeah, clicked- We may not like the same things but honestly you're like- the female version of me.
Delilah burst out laughing: What?! Haha, no I'm not! I don't go around trying to get phone numbers from random strangers like you do, dummy!
Dummy. Doesn't sound pleasant but it does when it comes from her. It shows their closeness. Their bond. Nicknames were their thing. Theirs only.
Arthur: Okay, that's not the point- and besides I didn't mean we act the same in every situation, we just, I don't know- we just see this hell hole in the same perspective I guess.
Delilah: Yeah, it seems so. You know, people keep thinking we're together.
Arthur teases: I've noticed. Well, you don't happen to feel that way about a dummy do you?Delilah: You wish. There's no way, I've known you too long...
