Chapter 7: Sports festival prep

We had exactly 2 weeks to prepare for the sports festival.

I've asked my dad for assistance to help me become stronger for this sports festival. He unexpectedly complied despite his busy schedule consisting of interviews, photoshoots, rescues, and patrols.

He's helping me with my exercise. Cardio, body weight exercises, interval training, the basics of martial arts, and Yoga.

I don't really mind it, it's fine having an extra skill in my roster. It's great knowing you have a chance against some people among your peers,

I'm not seeking the number 1 spot, I have no time and interest in that. I'd rather have my family be impressed that I've reached a higher rank than everybody else than potentially getting killed by one of the hero course kids in the battle tournament.

I'm not into getting my bones broken, I enjoy breathing for the next 20 years or so, thanks.

With my goal in mind, I have to train my quirk. I need to find ways to use my quirk and my quirk's other abilities

"Okay, you focus your attention on the plant and then you say a command. If you do well enough, you can do a command in your head" my dad advised sitting across the table, staring down the plant placed in the middle of the table.

I nodded, calming my nerves down, emptying my thoughts, and focusing my attention on the plant in front of me "Turn to the left" I commanded the plant, it took around 5 seconds before it did what I told it to do.

My mouth opened before I had a smile on my face "Turn right" I commanded the plant, my eyes fluttered in surprise as it did what I said immediately "Look, Dad! The plant did it immediately! I didn't have to wait 5 seconds for it to move!" I beamed up showing off the plant to him, My dad nodded in approval giving me a thumbs up and a smile before taking note of this in his notepad.

"Trying commanding it using your mind," My dad told me, I nodded looking back at the plant in front of me again.

I calmed my nerves, and stared at the plant, all of my focus placed on the plant as I eagerly thought of a command.

Twist yourself in a knot.

My eyes gazed upon the plant, the plant started moving on its own, twisting itself into a simple knot. I let out a gasp covering my mouth with my hand before looking at my dad "Did you see that? No way! I- Dad! Did you see that!" I excitedly asked my dad, I looked at the plants again with great focus.

Untwist yourself.

The plant followed suit, untying itself from the knot it had gotten itself into. I look at my hands having a shocked facial expression "I'm unstoppable" I muttered before my dad cleared his throat looking at me "Oh please, you can't even control a person with a plant quirk"

"Stopp! I'm getting there!" I replied, crossing my arms and looking away "Plus, who am I gonna control when none of the staff here has a plant quirk?"

"I can easily hire someone for that. We have money remember?"
