Return To Sender

My baby and I had a tiff.

Not sure we can mend this rift.

A lovers spat

Never thought you could do me wrong like that.

He tried to call, I hung up the phone.

Texted, I replied "leave me alone."

The postman handed me a letter.

I said no no no, return to sender.

Address unknown.

My baby and I had a tiff.

Not sure we can mend this riff.

A lovers spat.

The very next day another letter came.

I said the same, return to sender.

Address unknown.

I asked him to stop just leave me alone.

He said "just listen."

I didn't like the smirk on his face or his tone.

I Said, baby I loved you well, treated you just fine.

You said "always and forever you're going to be mine."

Each time I believed your sugar coated lies.

Looking at me with those puppy dog eyes.

My heart is aching.

All those promises you were faking.

My baby and I had a tiff.

Not sure we can mend this riff.

A lovers spat.

Never thought you could do me wrong like that.

You gave excuses, but no reason to stay.

So I only have one thing left to say.

Return to sender.

Return to sender.

Return to sender.

I'm better off on my own.

Address unknown.
