Black & Green

Chapter One

* KALANII'S POV*
" Ahh, finally back in Forks.. " my mother groans climbing out of the front seat of our car. Its been awhile since ive seen this place. We moved to Hawaii when I was 10 years old. I'm 18 now. I was dragged from my hometown, family, and the one person who makes forks likeable.

"LANIIIIII!!" my bestfriend Jacob Black yells as I step out of the car. Jacob has been my bestfriend since kindergarten. Yeah I know, that's a long time, but since ive left we've drifted apart. Were not as close as we used to be. That's the part I didn't wanna come back to.

"Oh my lord. Jacob. Jacob Black? My my, have you grown. " my mom replies to Jacob completely cutting me off from what I was about to say. She has a habit of interrupting me so she can get attetnion. She picked up this little "habit" in Hawaii. Ever since then, ive been a ghost to people when I'm around my mother. It's starting to get on my nerves, but she likes to be in the spotlight more than I do.

" Jake." I say with a warm smile as I pull him in for a hug. I missed his scent. Pineneedles & mint. He smells like home. Whenever Jake is around, I feel comfortable, at home, just all around at peace. When I left he cried the whole time he was helping me pack. He didn't necessarily like the fact of me leaving, but my parents thought it was best for my brother and I. Mayson, my brother, got himself kicked out of high school here in Forks. Rumors went around school. Things like, he got caught under the bleachers doing " the dirty " with Alani Rey, the most popular senior at our school. His reputation plummeted after all tbe rumors spread. Around here, we dont find " sexual encounters" cool, we find them rather gross to be completely honest with you. At the time, he was a junior and , I myself, was a freshman. What a great rep to leave your baby sister huh?

"Hey Jake. Long time no see bro." Mayson says shyly. Jake never had a problem with Mayson, but once the rumor spread,  Jake didn't like to know he was hanging out with a " slut." Nobody really knows the full story behind what happened, I myself don't even know, but I'm pretty sure my brother would never do anything like that. Or would he? I have no idea. My brother never really told me anything, yet I had to tell him everything.
It felt so good to finally be able to hold Jake. I really hope we come back together,  I missed my bestfriend. Just as I began to think things could get better from here, Sam, the " leader " around here calls Jake.

" I'm sorry Lanii,  but i really have to go.." Jake says as he gives me a sad hug. He sprint's into the woods with Sam ,and some other kids I haven't met yet, and disappeares. That can only mean one thing. That's the only reason why he's drifted away from me. He's one of them.
