The spring flower Neji FF

Chapter 6

Today was the day. Akina had her first day at the academy and was very excited. She did not know what she should wear exactly and had changed her clothes again and again. In the end, she had chosen the typical Uchiha colors and tied her hair with a red ribbon.

When she heard her mother's call, she darted down to her as fast as she could. "Doneeee." she smiled and got her food in her hand. "About time you're usually never late," came from Mikoto. "Let her be mother. She's just excited.", Itachi smiled as he walked in the door. He had moved his training up a bit so he could bring his little sister to Academy.

 "But something is missing.", he said and put a flower on her hair band. Akina had to smile and was happy about the flower. It would definitely bring her luck today.

Akina's small hand clasped Itachi's large one as they walked through Konoha. It was still relatively early, but they had plenty of time to get to school. The little Uchiha noticed that she was getting more and more nervous which did not go undetected by Itachi. "Is everything alright?" "What if they don't like me?" she asked quietly. She knew the rumors that went around. The Sharingan was feared by many, not like the Byakugan.

Just outside the academy, Itachi knelt down to her and put his hands on her shoulders. "They'll like you. Just stay the way you are and you'll be fine." Akina nodded cautiously and glanced briefly at the building.

"I'll be back for you today, okay?" the Uchiha smiled, tapping her forehead. Laughing, she looked at her brother. "Don't do that...", she grumbled slightly and put her hand on her forehead. Even though she loved that gesture it could be annoying in some situations. "Never.", Itachi grinned and waited until Akina entered the building.

Several children were walking along the corridors. Some of them didn't look very nice, but Akina tried to get to know all of them first. She did not want to judge beforehand. When she entered her classroom, some were already sitting in their seats. The Uchiha tried to stay calm and walked further into the room. "That's an Uchiha." a girl said quietly to her seatmate. Somehow she felt a little uncomfortable and decided to smile at the girl. "I'm Akina.", she finally introduced herself to everyone who was here.

Many greeted her politely, which surprised her quite a bit. Even a Hyuga greeted her nicely. "Nice to meet you. I'm Neji." Friendly as always, she listened to everyone and was suddenly almost knocked down by a boy if Neji hadn't caught her.

"Pleased to meet you all! I'm Rock Lee!" he yelled across the room causing whispers. "Are you all right?", Neji asked the Uchiha who nodded her thanks. Even if this Lee was special, she liked this weird bird even if his eyebrows were monstrous.

Neji was kind enough to let Akina sit next to him. She had always thought that their clans didn't get along. But Neji was different somehow. She didn't know what it was but she wanted to be friends with him. When her sensei finally started the lesson, it was a long day for the class. Akina already knew a lot about her family.

 Even though it was a repetition for her, she didn't want to brag about it. With several tasks she supported her bench neighbors who looked at her confused at first. "How do you know that?", Neji asked the girl. "My brother taught me some things," she smiled. Neji was very helpful to her in some tasks. Even TenTen could understand it through her explanation. It became clear to Akina that the two of them were her friends from today on. Whether this bushy eyebrow also belonged to it she did not know yet.
