Chapter 27

Neji was able to leave the hospital after two days. Tsunade had asked him not to exert himself yet. It had taken a while for his wounds to heal. She had also told him that Akina would not like it. Neji had to agree with the senju. Akina had been here at all times and had brought him something to eat. He had to smile when he thought about it and that she had even decorated the tray with flowers.

"Hey Neji.", Akina grinned as she intercepted him outside the hospital. The Hyuga smirked and even though it was annoying, he couldn't do without that "Hey Neji" anymore. He had heard it softly when she told him he needed to get better. "You're picking me up?" he asked. "Of course what do you think. The others are already waiting for us.", she grinned and took his hand.

Even though Akina was cautious, she pulled the Hyuga behind her. Every now and then she greeted the villagers she passed. Some didn't even wonder what was wrong with the Uchiha. They didn't know the girl any differently and they were glad that she was still the same. Neji kept looking at her hands which were joined. That small warm hand warmed his body. His heart was hammering against his chest and he could feel nothing but love for this girl.

"Nah go Neji, run faster.", she laughed and quickened her steps. Neji shook his head in amusement and pulled her back a little more which Akina didn't see coming. Because he pulled her back a little, she tripped over her own foot and slammed into his chest. "Ouch..." she said softly as his forehead slammed into hers. Akina was no longer wearing her headband around her forehead but had tied it around her leg.

 "Sorry...", Neji mumbled as he barely felt anything since he still had his headband on. Laughing, she looked at Neji. "Oh, never mind." The slight blush on her forehead was barely visible. You would think Akina was running into a door the way she sometimes rushed. "Akina I still need to take it easy." said Neji still holding her in his arms. "We can go a little slower to our team," he added.

Akina had totally forgotten that he still had his injuries. Quickly, she apologized. "That's all right." smirked Neji. "Alright, slow down then!", the Uchiha said cheerfully and as soon as she said it, she skipped lightly beside Neji. Actually, this girl was almost 15 but acted like a little kid. Many would think that she would not take anything seriously but they were wrong.

When it came down to it, Akina was a very serious person to be afraid of. Neji had seen it himself when he fought her again after years. It seemed to him that Akina wanted to show that not all Uchiha were fundamentally emotionless. That one did not have to be afraid of all Uchiha. The residents loved Akina and they showed it by waving to the girl or greeting her with laughter.

 Neji watched everything about her. He looked for anything that had changed about her. But he found nothing. She was still the sunshine of Shisui Uchiha. "Hey Neji. Don't think so much." she grinned. She had seen that he was a little absent-minded. "Sorry Akina.", he laughed a little. "I was just thinking about earlier.", he admitted. Joyfully, the Uchiha looked at her best friend. "That's great, isn't it?" she said, getting closer and closer to the training ground.

Happy that Neji was feeling better, the others greeted him. They had also noticed that he was getting more and more like his old self. Naruto was not entirely innocent. "At last we are united again!" shouted Lee loudly, raising his fist. "Now no one can separate and deeefeaaaat us!"

"Lee calm down." said TenTen, crossing her arms. "You can't keep yelling everything like that." "Come on TenTen! It's been a long time since we really stood together as a team," Lee grinned. "We have a Byakugan, a Sharingan, your weapons, and my Taijutsu! We're invincible!"

"Give me a break Lee." said Guy, wagging his index finger. "Remember it's not about skills and powers but working together as a team." "Ouuu Sensei Guy I'm soorrrry!" cried Lee crying and apologizing. 

Slowly, Akina leaned in to Neji and TenTen. "Say...when did Lee get even crazier?" she whispered. "Since he met Sensei Guy." her friend said. "It can really get on your nerves." she added. "It's okay then I thought he was on something.", Akina laughed and was looked at disturbed by her team. How could she think that Lee would take something!? It was true that he was crazier than in the academy but never would he take anything.
