Louis found a job two days later, as a waiter in one of the fanciest restaurants in Doncaster. Don't ask him how he did it, he just did. He was determined not to blow it. He needed this job and it paid well. Okay so his hours change a bit. He would have to work night shift so he couldn't help his mum out as he used to but she didn't seem to mind, but just gave him the strict lecture that if he gets fired from this place, he will have to start babysitting his siblings again, as she will have to get a second job.
So that is where he stood at the moment, by the entrance to the restaurant, waiting to serve the next customer that walks in. Seeing that he is the new guy, he only has to do one table at a time.
"How's your first day Louis?" Ed, a red headed waiter asked as he came to stand next to Louis.
"I'm getting there, I still feel rather clumsy." Louis explained, looking down.
"Don't worry mate, we all went through it." Ed said patting Louis' shoulder lightly.
"Oh customer. Of you go!" Ed said pushing Louis to the couple that just walked in. He smiled and showed them to a table in back. He took their drink orders and headed to the bar to order them. From the bar, he noticed the door open from the corner of his eye. He didn't take notice of it, knowing it was just another set of people. He caught sight of the red headed man, running around before showing the people to their table. Louis put the couples drinks on his tray and went to the table, serving them.
"Would you like to order now, or should I come back?" Louis asked. The couple ordered their starters and he turned to go hand the order to the chef when something caught his eye. Not something, more someone. He could recognize those curls anywhere and the way people kept looking to the table, he knew for sure who it was. He smiled, remembering when he actually got to meet him.
"Louis! Please take these to table 9, I really need to run to the bathroom!" Frankie, the one waiter said. Louis sighed and walked to table 9 and placed their orders on the table. He tried to keep his eyes away from the table next to table 9, feeling that familiar gaze on him. Louis turned around and headed back to the kitchen to get the starters for the couple at his table but stopped dead when he saw a long body standing in front of him? Louis was scared to look up, because the way the man was dressed, he knew exactly who it was. Louis slowly turned his gaze up to stare at the bright green eyes. He didn't know if he wanted to smile and scream because Harry Styles stood in front of him with a smile, or crawl into a hole because Harry Styles stood in front of him... At work... Serving people food... For a minimum wage.
"Uh... I... Hi!" Louis squeaked, making Harry chuckle.
"Strange how we keep bumping into each other..." Harry said and Louis blushed slightly.
"Uh yeah..." Louis said, stepping aside so he can take the starters to his table. He placed them down gently and smiled before taking their main course orders and heading back to the kitchen to hand the chef the orders.
"Louis!! You need to help me with that table!!" Ed hissed. Louis frowned and turned his gaze to the table that Ed was pointing at and his heart sped up by a hundred miles a minute.
"They have ordered so much!!" Ed hissed, grabbing several dishes.
"Bring those!" Ed gestured to the other plates and he nodded, grabbing the 4 dishes and following Ed to the table where Harry Styles and his posse sat. He handed all the dishes He had to the people, before the last one went to none other then Harry himself.
"Listen, can I talk to you?" Harry asked and Louis frowned.
"I'm sorry but I'm working..." Louis said, gesturing to his uniform.
"What time do you finish?" Harry asked, making Louis frown in confusion.
"At 10." Louis whispered.
"I will wait till then." Harry said before turning around and digging into his food. Louis stood there frozen for a second before quickly retreating back to the kitchen and leaning against the counter. What the hell just happened? Louis was confused as hell. Harry Styles wanted to talk to him... Louis! Louis Tomlinson! Ordinary guy from Doncaster!! Something is just not right here.
When the night was almost done, and most people have left, it only left one person in the whole restaurant sitting at a table, playing with a pen? Louis didn't know if he could go over there or not, not wanting to get fired for interacting with the customers.
"Alright Louis, you can sign out. You are done for the day and I think you did pretty well. Keep it up!" The manager, Diane, said to him and he smiled, going to fetch his things. Harry was still sitting at the table when he came back and he took a deep breath before walking over.
"Uh hi..." Louis stuttered quietly. He watched as Harry turned his head and gave a small smile before gesturing to the seat in front of him. Louis shakily took it, hiding his hands under the table because they were shaking so much.
"So I was sort of hoping to see you again." Harry said and Louis gulped as his eyes widened. Is he in trouble?
"I pulled so strings and I wanted to give this to you." Harry said before taking a envelope out of his jacket pocket and sliding it across the table. Louis stared at the envelope in horror. Oh he was definitely in trouble.
"Wha-what is it?" Louis stuttered, cursing to himself for stuttering.
"Why don't you open it and find out..." Harry said leaning forward. Louis shakily took the envelope from the table and stared at it.
"Why are you shaking?" Harry asked all confused.
"Uh yo-you sort of for-got that I'm a big fan... This is kind of ov-overwhelming to me." Louis said shakily and he tore the corner of the envelope.
"Don't be scared! I don't bite!" Harry said laughing a bit and I gave a small smile.
"I don't know if I'm excited or ready to vomit..." Louis whispered and he opened the envelope. In side was a set of paper. He frowned and pulled them out to examine when he nearly fell off his chair backwards. Harry Styles, THE Harry Styles, has just given him a ticket to his concert.
"Hope it's alright. Oh there is a backstage pass in there too. I could only get a VIP ticket so you are sort of stuck with the limo and the special treatment and getting the death glares from the fans that couldn't get the tickets quick enough." Harry rambled on as Louis stared at the backstage pass and the ticket and the piece of paper that had to be filled in with all his details, where he lives so the limo can pick him up, what food is his favourite, stuff like that.
"I don't know what to say..." Louis said sucking in a breath as he looked at Harry.
"A simple thank you maybe?" Harry said but had a small smile on his face.
"Thank you!!" Louis said suddenly louder and rushed over to hug Harry tightly. Harry chuckled and patted his back gently.
"Like I said, it's nice to meet a fan that didn't scream in my ear and shove every piece of paper or body part at me for me to sign and with all the phones taking pictures..." Harry said.
"It was so worth fanboying afterwards then!" Louis said laughing.
"Right, I better be going! See you at the concert!" Harry said, standing up and giving one last smile at Louis before leaving. Louis stared at the tickets again and smiled. He can't believe that just happened!! He did a small happy dance before grabbing the tickets and heading out, to walk home. The smile never leaving his face!
