"Soar!" Ike shouted as he rushed to her side, crouching to help her sit up from the sudden blast, feeling her talons shake from the aftershocks. "What does it look like?" She huffed sarcastically and sat up glaring at the portal which looked like it was on the verge of catching itself on fire as the gateway collapsed in a heap of smoke and stone, she honestly didn't know what happened. she followed the instructions correctly and got the needed material so what went wrong? "You look uncomfortable"

"You think?" She bellowed and got to her feet, glancing at the gateway as it disapeared seeing smoke come from the archy of the portal feeling panick rise in her chest. she quickly grabbed Ike and covered both of them in her large wings as the portal shot into bits as some of the remaining shards of the material shot out into the ground. The loud sound echoing around the wilderness as the loud clouds of smoke rise into the sky, she could only hear the loud ringing in her ears is she felt the heat of the explosion hit her feathers feeling a strong burning sensation. As her ears adjusted she could merely hear Ike flip out in panick, she slowly opened her wings to see the completely ruined portal burning in flames and the large pieces scattered everywhere around them, Ike quieted down feeling his fear start to over power his sanity oh gods we were so close! And now I have to deal with, him he thought just thinking about what the warlord might do to him but death seemed like the most likely possibility. Ike wasn't sure how to explain the error to him so the only way is to except fate but what would happen if he was dead, he's already dead enough as it is but what if being killed sent him back to hell? It didn't seem likely since those who were killed twice never returned so most people assumed they were dead permadently. "Can we fix it?" She asked looked down at him who was still staring at thier only chance to escape "N-no, I don't think so" he quivered and looked down completely aware the overlord was ready to kill him as soon as he gets the chance, he was already in enough trouble in hell so this is probably the biggest pickle he's gotten himself into in a decades. "Well, we might as well try to figure out what went wrong before morning, we need to set up camp here in the meantime and plan our next course of action" she said and looked around for any safe material to use to set up a camp fire but with the ruined portal that was one of the only uses of shelter they could use considering the size "O-okay-I'll be right back, okay?-great bye!" He said quickly and ran off into the forest, she sighed and grumbled something under her breath before gathering up the pieces and piling them on top of the destroyed arch of the former portal.

With Ike

After running off he wasn't sure what to do, he still had the blueprints to the portal but considering the fact he might be dead today just sent shivers down his spine, after coming to a stop he looked around the dark area of the forest as the sun was about to set looking around for the large warlord "Um, M-mictlan sir?" No response. He could hear the sounds of hisses through the other growth, his white eyes widening as he caught the sights of those narrowed heads and forked tongues. Pulling his claws close to his chest as the scene became clear before him. Snakes, many of them from the tree branches high above him, he really was going to die today.
