Two days.

(Y/N) read over the letter that was mailed to him at the hospital one last time. It was there in black and white: He had to return to the frontlines in two days. The time he spent finding his friends, saving Princess Luna, and recovering in the hospital almost made him forget that there was a war going on... and that he was a soldier. His duty was still to serve, no matter the circumstances. The stallion kept this thought fresh in his head as he finished removing the bandages from his body and began to change back into his paratrooper uniform.

'The war waits for no-pony. Not even the Element of Unity, I guess,' he thought to himself.

He set his military bag on the bed and began loading it with the items that the girls left him; some of Applejack's fritters in a metal container, the scarf from Rarity, the tea from Fluttershy, the journal from Rainbow Dash, and one of Pinkie's balloons (that he deflated). He closed up the bag and turned his attention to the armored vest left by Twilight. The stallion stuck his head and arms through and squirmed a bit as he adjusted the straps of the vest until it fit snugly over his chest and torso. He then pulled on his uniform shirt over it, concealing the vest. He tapped a hoof on the vest twice, metal plating. Smiling to himself, the stallion touched a hoof to the moon necklace around his neck. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath, slinging his bag over his shoulders.

(Y/N): "I should tell every-pony goodbye, first. I'm sure they'll understand that I have to do this."

With that, the stallion walked out of the hospital room and toward the fashion district. He'll start off with Rarity.

. . .

As (Y/N) walked around Canterlot, he found a considerably smaller military presence. Most of the soldiers he did find were in a similar situation as him, packing up equipment and vehicles and leaving the city. 'At least it's not just me,' he thought.

(Y/N): "I guess every-pony got the order to ship out. I hope I can at least say goodbye to the girls before my number's called."

He stepped up to Rarity's Boutique, knocking on the door three times. He stood waiting for a few minutes yet got no response. He reached his hoof up to knock again but paused. A small note was left on the door in fancy handwriting.

'Gathering more materials. Will be gone all day - Rarity 💜'

(Y/N) gave an empty sigh. Rarity would be busy with designing outfits now that she has the free time. Oh, well. He can always talk to the other girls. He turned his head, wincing a bit at the thought of leaving without talking to the fashionista but ultimately decided to carry on. As he walked down the street, he felt some pony behind him, pausing. He spun around, finding himself alone on the street and failing to notice a certain fashionista hiding close by, watching him with a pair of blue eyes and a smile. He shrugged to himself, turning and continuing on. As he walked away, the mare withdrew an ornately wrapped present from a bush and set it on her back, sneaking over to the Canterlot Castle.

. . .

(Y/N) rubbed his head, opting to find Fluttershy at the medical tent outside. The stallion waved to the gate guards as he stepped into the tent, looking around to find it empty. The wounded must've already been moved into the city or sent back to the frontlines. He frowned as he walked through the tent but spotted Angel by the sink, washing his paws with the basin. The stallion approached him with a sigh.
