We reached the parking lot and found the boys lying on their front on the ground. "What are you two doing?" Emily asked. "Nothin'." They both said quickly and got up. Logan shoved something in his pocket.
"Whoever is showing me the way to the abandoned parking lot, let's hurry up," I said and got into my car.
Kyle got into the passenger seat of my car. "Okay, I'll tell you where to go," he said as I started my car. Of course, Emily and I couldn't tell the boys whose car they were going in.
Because I know if Emily wanted it super obvious, she'd ask Kyle to go in her car. We technically made it EXTREMELY obvious by handing the boys our underwear.
I'm still embarrassed I did that. "There is an abandoned parking lot next to the old caravan park, that's where our cars are." I nod.
I turned left and drove for a short while, he pointed to turn into the caravan park and drive all the way down the road to the forest where it opened up into a viney parking lot. Emily driving behind me.
I saw the boys' cars, been wondered where they were I thought they weren't at school this morning.
His pocket looks a little stuffed, I see a bit of purple peaking out of it. I wonder where Logan put my underwear, he didn't say anything about them or give them back to me when I didn't ask for them back.
"Hey, can you keep a secret?" he asks when I pull up beside Logan's car. "Yeah, sure," I said.
"You are one of the few people I trust, besides Logan and Emily ya know, I haven't told them yet, but it's been really weighing down on me for months."
"What is it? Did something happen?" I asked, worried that it could be something bad.
"I just wanna hear you tell me if it was my fault or not."
"I was in the hall helping a teacher carry things into a classroom, Mr Reynolds was walking past until he stopped and asked where Emily was."
Mr Reynolds is the teacher who was fired for sexually assaulting Emily last year and is the reason no girl can go alone to the bathroom.
"I told him, she had just gone to the bathroom, because at the time Emily and I were doing a project together and I was carrying things into the classroom the teacher was gonna use as an example to help the students out."
"I didn't think anything of it when I told him where she was, I remember I remember her running to the bathroom saying she was about to piss herself ya know how she is, she's very open and says everything that goes on in her brain."
"I look back now and realize that, that never would have happened if I didn't tell him where Emily was-" I stop him by hugging him.
"No, it would have still happened, he admitted in court that he had targeted her long before it happened, it just would have happened differently Kyle, Don't blame yourself for that, Emily would slap you if she knew you thought that way."
