Hiroshima, Japan
7:00 am
Fuji sat on his reclining chair while Sora sat on her rocking chair as they both stare at the field. Sora is 67 years old while Fuji is 70. It’s become their hobby to stare at the green field. Specially now that it is Summer Season. They both can enjoy the warm climate because Spring brought about a cold season. Today’s temperature is 25 Degrees Celsius. They were both wearing glasses. They are very contented just sit and stare at the field, talking about the old days. They just moved to Japan on the year 1940. They both retired. They were professors at an American School and achieved Doctorate on their profession. They moved to Japan because it has been Sora’s dream to at least spend vacation there. They were very young when they began to be in a relationship. They were both classmates and studied the same course. Maybe, that is the reason why schooling, for them, hasn’t been that hard. They had a lot of dreams every since they were at college. They dreamed of travelling to many places and do whatever they want to do. Japan is one. Later on, realizing that adulthood is not that easy. After graduating and attaining their licenses. They both became professors. Life poured out a lot of works for them, hindering them to travel and do stuffs like that. Now that they were both retired, they took this opportunity to, at least in a lifetime of works, feel the sweetness of all their labors. Fuji is a Japanese. He resided at Hiroshima when he was young. Until his parents decided to move to America for a better opportunity and Economic matters. That is when Fuji met Sora and became friends then lovers. Both their parents are already gone and they did not manage to have kids because Fuji has a medical condition. He has a Klinefelter Syndrome that hinders him to produce kids. This was never a problem to Sora and decided to live her life with Fuji anyways. Although they tried and even thought of adopting, but it seems like they really are not capable of doing so.
“I lost another tooth a while ago.” Fuji.
“Oh, really? How many you still got there?” Sora.
“I guess I only have 6, I need to change my dentures again.” Fuji.
Sora laughed a bit.
“I still have 8 in here, Darling.” Sora.
It may seem unusual, but it’s been their hobby to compete with each other of who has greater number of teeth.
Sora put her hands above Fuji’s hand. Fuji looked at Sora.
“You’re still the most handsome man.” Sora said.
Fuji just smiled and even until now, he is still very thankful for his wife. He is incapacitated to produce kids, a very emotional man, has a temper. Yet, he’s been given a beautiful kind-hearted wife who understands him always.
“Thank you, Darling.” Fuji.
“You still never changed. You always use to tell me that even when we’re still at college.” Fuji.
“Well, all I remember back then is how you adored me too. You always tell me that I’m pretty and all. You adored my hair so much.” Sora.
Sora then checked her hair.
“Now, I have lots of white hairs.” Sora laughed.
“You’re still beautiful, Darling.” Fuji.
“All I do back then is make myself become more attractive to you.” Sora.
Fuji took Sora’s hand and kissed her in the forehead.
“I still love how you kiss my forehead.” Sora.
“I know, Darling. I promised you before that I’ll give you lots of it.” Fuji.
“It is as if we were both very young still.” Sora.
