They searched the entire school up until they began to hear police sirens. Then the grabbed all their stuff and fled from the school. They both didn't need to be told because they both know the school wouldn't want them to come back.

They ran until they got far from the school and knew it would be safe to stop. Where they did stop was under a bridge. That way they'd still be out of sight so they could catch their breath and take a break. Zoe had one thing on her mind that was bothering her.

"How do they just disappear?" She asked irritatedly "They chase me through the school and then they just vanish."

"I don't know but I know I saw them." Kane responded as he put his weapons away.

"We need to get back to camp as soon as possible." She told him

"I know, I'll go to the apartment and grab all of our stuff, meet me at camp." He said to her.

She nodded and she got a taxi from the same area. She had just enough money to get her to Long Island, thankfully.

She was still so confused. She didn't know what happened. And she wanted to but nothing made since. It's not like monsters to disappear while fighting demigods.

Once she got to her destination she stared at the big pine tree that stood along the boarder. Protecting rhe camp and preserving the life of a hero, Thalia Grace. She was excited to meet Thalia a few years back, but then things went south and Thalia didn't make it.

Camp Half-blood, Zoe thought to herself, Welcome home.

She gripped the strap of her bookbag, adjusting it to where it wasn't pushing into her wound. She looked at the tree one last time then she walked into camp.

It wad a lively day for the campers. They were out and about doing activities, and sports. There was satyrs out too. Half man, half mountain goat. She always thought they were extraordinary creatures that were always underestimated. Along with the pegasi. She understood the pegasi perfectly but that was something no one could know. Because if people found out about her it would start war. Which is why Chiron, who was a centaur, kept her in a certain cabin.

She walked toward a big four story house that had a wrap around porch. They called it the Big House. It was where the camp director and the activities director stayed. And something else that was dead but not quite at the same time.

She walked up the stairs amd around the porch to the outdoor table were the director and the activities director. They were playing cards.

The activities director was a centaur as old as the gods. His name was Chiron, the director was a god under punishment for chasing after an off limits wood nymph. This god was Dionysus, god of wine, a.k.a. Mr. D.

Zoe didn't like Mr. D and Mr.D didn't really like any of the campers with the exception of his own children. Sometimes she wonders if he even cares about his own children, but that's usually when she's mad at him. He was just a very arrogant, very childish god in her own opinion. And she was almost positive that Mr. D knew she thought that about him but she didn't care.

When she was in sight Chiron looked up and sighed as he put his cards down. He motioned Zoe to sit and Chiron dealt her some cards.

Mr. D didn't even look up from his cards "Oh, good." He said with a disappointed sigh "You're back"

"A little trouble with school, my dear?" Chiron asked

"Let's just say I didn't make it on the cheer team." She said to him.

Zoe wanted to ask him if monster just disappear when they're chasing after demigods trying to kill them, but the moment didn't feel right so she just played her turn.

"Kane said he'd meet me here, he's getting our stuff out of the apartment" Zoe said

Chiron nodded and exaimed her for a minute "Is there something else on your mind?" He asked.

She shook her head, hating how he always knew when there was something off with her. But he also knew when she didn't want to talk and when she did so he never pushed her.

They played cards for about an hour and that's when dinner was getting started. So she helped pick up the cards and put them away and she walked with Chiron towards the pavilion.

"Now do you want to tell me what's on you're mind, child?" Chiron asked as he trotted slowly.

She took a second to debate her chances of majorly confusing him but she told him anyways. "Can..., well, do mo steps just disappear when they're fighting demigods?" She asked him "Like they're chasing you for one second then the next, poof, gone. Vanished, no where to be seen. We searched everywhere for them, we couldn't find them or they're weapons." She said to him.

Chiron frowned at her words and he hesitated, as if he was decoded how he was going to word what he wanted to say.

"No, they normally don't. There has been weird things going on since the winter solstice, so it's not much of a surprise. The outrageous weather, the threats made on Lord Poseidon by Lord Zues, the stirring of many other thing. Dangerous things. A few disappearing monsters should be the least of your worries with what's to come, I'm afraid." He said to her.

She didn't say anything at first but she just kept walking. "Zues' master bolt?"

"Yes, and unfortunately because of it I need to be leaving when spring break ends for Yancy Acadmey. I must go back and help Grover keep an eye on someone." He said

"Do you really think it's him?" She asked "I mean, I'd prefer to be like him, rather than who I actually am to be kept secret" she muttered.

"Yes I know, Zoe" he said with a sigh "But it's for the best. We don't need war especially with what I foresee coming. On that happy thought, shall we go to dinner?" He asked with a smile

"Sure" she said and she followed him to the pavilion.
