She felt uncomfortable, she wanted to turn just like she did on her bed every morning but she couldn't, it was like she was paralyzed. Her head was banging and kicking and she felt discomfort around her neck. She quickly noticed she was not in her bed not only because of the firmer and harder mattress she laid on but also because of the sick smell she inhaled which made her nausea and disgusted.
Where was she? Was she dead or had she been dreaming all those time? Was it because of the alcoholic wine she couldn't remember anything after that tragic incident? The intake wasn't even much!
Kira fluttered her eyes open. She was welcomed back to reality with a bright light right above her, staring straight into her eyes. She immediately looked away and saw two blurry figures standing some distances away. She closed her eyes and reopened them, her vision was clearer now. She immediately realized she was in a hospital and her mother was one of the figures standing some meters away. She was talking to a man in a lab coat , he held a sthestescope in his right hand and his left hand was hidden in his lab coat pocket.
"Mom." She said with a tiny crooked voice , when she spoke her head had a stinging sensation which hurt her.

"Honey! Oh Kiki dear." She ran to Kira's side brushing her burnette hair gentle. "Does it hurt?"

"A little." Kira said trying to remember how she landed on a hospital bed. The doctor walked to her with both hands now clasped together, he was slightly smiling.

"You shouldn't stress yourself, it would only hurt for just some hours but after your medication, the pain should be gone too." He said to her. "You sure are a lucky one dear, you escaped internal bleeding and a serious brain fracture." He continued. Kira wasn't really getting what he was saying, she looked at her mother who was in already in tears.

"Mom,What happened?" She tried to speak slowly to make the pain less but it was helping.

"Oh Kiki, you were out for two days." Her mother explained and sat beside her. In a flash Kira remembers all that happened that night, she being hit, Mia bleeding there as she lay unconscious, Mia's annoying scream and finally the stranger, the awful animal who had hit Kira unconscious.

"Mia. What about Mia? I hope she's alright too. Is she awake or has she been discharged already? Did she loose too much blood? I really need to see her mom." Kira said worriedly. Her mother stared at her and suddenly cleared her throat in an unusual way.

"What's wrong mom?" She asked unsure.

"Kira" Her mother said slowly and bent low to hold her daughter's hand." Mia's- Mia's gone."
Kira held her breath waiting patiently for her mother to smile and say it was a joke because it would be an expensive one, how could she say something like that. She waited and waited but waited in vain. Dorothy's face remained the same, red, puffy and teary, there was was no trace of happiness or excitement.

"Kira? Kiki? Are you okay?" Dorothy asked when she noticed her daughter's Frozen and shocked face like she had gone out of oxygen. Finally Kira breathed out and shook her head continuously.

"No mom, it's not true. Mia's should be here somewhere." Kira said as hot tears rolled down her eyes.

"Kira just take it easy, you just woke up. Calm down." Her mother pleaded but the words weren't getting through to Kira. It meant nothing to her. Her head was spinning and she wanted all of it to be fake. She shut her eyes and waited counting down the seconds, she opened it. She was still there, still in the hospital next to her mother.
