~Flashbacks~

I couldn't take it anymore. I was hungry and thirsty and tired all at the same time. The last thing I saw was a beautiful girl running towards me. Before I fell unconscious once again.

I later woke up in a strange room inside a house. Could is be the house I was trying to get to earlier? Who knows. "I wonder how long it's been.." I mumbled to myself.

I then heard footsteps approaching the door of the room. The door shot open revealing a beautiful girl with short tied up hair, purple ends and a purple butterfly on her hair.

"Oh my, seems like you're awake! Try not to move too much, alright? You're wounds seem to be quite bad. Don't worry, you're not in danger anymore. My name is Shinobu Kocho. Now tell me, what happened?"

The girl spoke in such a soft tone while walking towards me. She seemed so ethereal with every movement she made. "I-I—" The thought of remembering what happened last night made me tear up again.

Shinobu sat next to me and smiled. "Don't worry, lets start with the basics, shall we? What's your name and how old are you?" She asked me while rubbing my back.

"My name is Y/N L/N.. and I am 8 years old.." I said with a quiet voice. Shinobu seemed quite shocked to see that I was an 8 year old girl. Especially since I was all alone with wounds all over my body.

"Well.. uhm.. Where are your parents? Do you know where your house is or..?" She smiled gently at me. Tears then started dropping down my eyes. Shinobu gasped softly before speaking.

"oh my! Did I saw something wrong? I'm sorry if I have! I didn't mean it.." She looked at me in concern and worry. "u-uhm.. If I may ask.. are your parents.. gone..?" She asked.

I remained silent and still before nodding. "mama and papa were killed by a demon last night.." I cried. Shinobu looked at me with empathy and kindness.

"I'm sorry for your loss dear.. Well, since you have no place to stay.. How about you live with me and the others..?" My eyes widened.

"Others..? Are there other people living here too..?" I thought to myself. Shinobu looked at me with a smile, not trying to pressure me as I thought.

"s-sure.. I have no other place to go anyways.. and the village is far away from here.." I answered her while looking around the room. It was filled with many other beds, this is probably a hospital..?

Her smile got slightly wider as she stood up and put me on the floor. "Great! Let's get you cleaned now, shall we? Follow me!" I followed her while inspecting the place. It was quite big.. like a mansion.

We then got to the shower. She washed me and cleaned my wounds as well as getting me new clothes and brushing my hair. We then walked to her bedroom and she seemed to be getting something from her drawer.

She turned to me with her hand behind her back and smiled warmly at me. I stared at her confusingly as she walked towards me and took the butterfly hair clips from behind her back.

"here..! Choose one and then I'll do your hair and put it on you." I looked at all the butterflies in awe. They were all equally beautiful but I could only choose one.

3. Blue butterfly.

It was a difficult choice, but in the end I chose the (colour) butterfly. Shinobu smiled at me while grabbing a hairbrush and then 2 hair ties.

She brushed my hair until it was completely smooth and then tied my hair into one long braid. I felt happy and cared for.

Shinobu smiled at me while attaching the butterfly clip on me. I looked at her in awe as my eyes glistened.

"there! All done. Now, would you like the meet the others?" She asked me with a slightly happier tone. I nodded and followed her down the hallway.

We then went to the kitchen to see another butterfly girl! She had 2 blue butterflies tied in pigtails and seemed.. tall. "good morning Aoi! I have someone for you to meet!" Shinobu spoke.

Aoi turned around and replied straight after her. "good morning Shinobu-sama! Oya? A child? Is she staying with us from now on?" She asked Shinobu

"Yes! And i'm just introducing her to the others!" Shinobu spoke delightfully. I waved at Aoi and she smiled at me. "My name is Aoi Kanazaki.! Nice to meet you!" She spoke.

"I'm Y/N L/N.. It's nice meeting you too.." I replied to her. "How old are you? You seem quite young." She asked me. "I'm 8 years old." Aoi's eyes then widened.

"Well, i'll be continuing on the chores now, goodbye for now Y/N!" She waved at me while walking back to the kitchen counter. I waved back and walked to the backyard.

There I saw a yellow hair boy running away from somebody with a boar head and a red head guy staring at them trying to get them to calm down. There was also another butterfly girl! She seemed so calm and peaceful.

"ara ara.. calm down everyone please!" Shinobu spoke, I could feel her voice shiver down my spine. Anyways, the other all froze and stared at me and Shinobu.

"I would like you to meet somebody, she'll be staying with us from now on." Shinobu smiled. I looked at the red hair guy smile at me and wave. "hello! My name is Tanjiro Kamado! Nice to meet you Kaiso!" He said.

I waved back at him and looked at the others. The one with the boar head put his hands clutched on his hips and yelled. "I'm Inosuke Hashibira! The king of the mountains!"

I looked at him with a blank expression, I noticed the others staring at him in that way too. "My name is Zenitsu Agasuma, nice to meet you!" He smiled. I noticed he was blushing..? Strange.

I looked at the last girl and she was so much quieter than the others. I could probably get along with her better. "I'm Kanao Tsuyuri.." She then bowed down and smiled calmly.

I waved at them and then walked with Shinobu, back to her room. "Alright, stay here while I go prepare your room for you!" She smiled, then walking out.

A few minutes later she came back and took my hand, walking to my new room. It looked so organised and clean.. I should try not to make it messy anytime soon..

"it seems like it's getting late.. go to bed now!" She smiled warmly at me while speaking in a calm tone. "I'll let you meet the hashira's tomorrow at the meeting.. goodnight!" She waved while walking out of the room.

"Goodnight.." I softly spoke while lying down on the futon. I stared at the ceiling in deep thoughts. "Hashira..? Who are the hashira..? And what meeting..?"

I slowly then closed my eyes, drifting into a deep sleep.
