Escape From Reality

Mine - Taylor Swift

Asterin's POV

"Wanna go to the bay?" He asked, turning off his phone and looking at me with a smile.

"Well duh, what kind of Cali girl would I be if I said no?" I asked back, standing up on my bed. I towered over him and he looked up at me.

"Don't you fucking dare!" He yelled, I hit my elbow twice and jumped down on him. "Ow!" He laughed out.

"I won't." I said with a shrug, rolling off of him with a wide smile.

"That's gonna bruise." He said, rubbing the spot I hit him on his stomach.

"Too bad so sad, let's go." I said. I grabbed a bathing suit from my drawer and walked to the bathroom. I didn't plan on getting in seeing as it's just getting to warmer weather, but nonetheless I know he's gonna get payback for my wrestling move. I threw on a shirt I stole from him and a pair of shorts that were literally not visible because of the shirt and walked out. He was leaning on my shut door outside of my room. he looked up at me and smiled.

"Mom Mom! We're going to the bay! We'll be back!" I yelled, slipping on my shoes and bounding out the door. We got into his car and he drove us to the golden gate bridge.

We sat on the rocks by the water and just tossed rocks in it for a while. He tried to teach me how to skip them, but I got bored after a few minutes so I just kept throwing them in and seeing how big of a splash was made.

"I know what can make a bigger splash." He said, grinning evilly at me.

"Don't you fucking dare!" I yelled, standing up. I started to run away from the water but he picked me up and started walking back towards the water.

"No! Don't throw me in the damn water! What are you even thinking!" I screamed as he held me by the waist, running towards the bay. "It's gonna be so cold!"

He jumped in holding me tightly to him as he hit the water. We both plunged into the freezing cold water. As soon as we hit, he let me go and I swam to the top to get air. He came up shortly after me with a smile, wiping the hair our of his face.

"You bitch!" I yelled, splashing him with the water.

"You literally went full pro wrestler on me earlier!" He yelled, splashing me back.

"You deserved it!" I laughed, splashing him again.

"I did not!" He yelled, splashing me again. We just splashed each other time after time, laughing and swimming away from one another. He finally caught up to me and grabbed me by the waist again, pulling me flush against him.

"Gotcha." He whispered in my ear. I wrapped my arms around his and leaned into him.

"I wish we could stay like this forever." I said, smiling at him.

"Yeah, me too." He replied, kissing my temple gently.

"It's fucking cold." I said, pulling out of his grip and swimming to the edge. I sat on the ground, Carter coming up and sitting next to me. I laid my head on his shoulder and we watched as the cars passed on the bridge.

"I used to hate this bridge." I whispered, lacing my fingers with his.

"How come?" He asked, rubbing his thumb against the back of my hand.

"It was always where I found out my uncle was leaving again. That or it was always where I crossed to leave him." I whispered, looking at the bridge.

"Do you still feel the same way?"

"Not particularly, I guess. Making some new memories that change my mind." I said, looking up at him with a smile. He smiled back at me, leaning down and pressing his lips to mine. The kiss didn't last long, but I savored it nonetheless.

"Let's get back." He said with a laugh. I nodded, standing up with him. he quickly threw me over his shoulder and walked up the hill.

"You stupid bitch! Put me down!" I laughed out. He set me down in front of his car. He set towels down on the seats and drove us home.
