Falsity

Endless times, when younger, Luffy dreamt with his brothers by his side.
Not having any friends besides them, family besides them.

He had to keep them as close as close can get.

Sometimes warping reality when it forces itself to, can reach that barrier.

"Lu- wake up.."
Whispers above his head echoes almost loud.

"Don't be so damn easy.. need to get going."
The words start to ease their way outside of his mind.

Ears picking up steps, shuffles against wood.

Suddenly, a fuzzy cozy textured something smothered his face.
Alarmed now, Luffy arose out of his soon to overcome himself, slumber.

Scrambles, he shoved the believed pillow off of his face.
"Hey! Who did that!?" Luffy, lively as ever, screeched.

Ace, ruffling Luffy's hair down, pointed with his thumb to their blond brother.
"Sabo did."

Sabo's face fell betrayed.

Thrown under the bus for what he hadn't done, what a move Ace pulled on him.
Nothing he's not used to.

No one entirely wants to annoy Luffy when he arises from his sleep.

Sabo shook his hands in defense as Luffy pounced on him.
Almost smothering him back with his body flailing everywhere.

"Sabo! You big meanie!"

"It was Ace! Ack- Stop it! Watch your teeth!"
Luffy biting at Sabo's arms came to a screeching halt as Ace hit Luffy upside his head.

Being seven is understandable for recorded stupidity.

Not entirely density.
It was pretty obvious that Ace did it, he'd been holding the egg white pillow.

Ever since he awoke.
"Aforesaid sentence, we need to get going."

Ace shrugged his shoulders as Luffy had tears prickled in his eyes.

Sabo was quick to comfort the younger brother of them.
Almost as quick to forget said younger brother bit him just a second ago.

"First you almost smother him, then you hit him. Now you want to leave?"
"Yeah."
"Dammit Ace, what's new." Sabo soughed unsurprised.

Luffy was quick to shake his head and laugh, "Silly Ace, you didn't tell me we were going anywhere!"

"Why should I have to? I'm the coolest and eldest of us, you guys just follow."
"I'd follow you!" Luffy was quick to throw his hands up in affirmation.

Sabo shook his head, "He just insulted us, and you- that reminds me." Sabo had a thoughtful gaze on the two standing infront of him.

Ace raised a brow as Sabo stood up off the wood floor of their hand-made home.

"You've always followed Ace. Technically we both have, but the times where he'd try to kill you, you still tried following."

Luffy looked to Sabo behind him.
"And that was when I met you! Shishi! Great times!"

"I think you're lying to yourself, we tried killing you. Almost getting you killed by Bluejam's men."

Sabo crossed his arms, lowering his attitude recalling the memories Ace recollected.

Luffy smiled as big as he could with his baby fat, "I was saved by my big brothers! Then again, you haven't tried killing me since."

"Ace literally just tried to,"
"I just tried to."
"That was Sabo."
"Look what you did Ace."
"What's new? Hm?"

They left the tree house soon after their morning antics slowed and died.

Luffy just following his brothers, close behind, he couldn't stray too far.
