"Can we take a break from each other? Just for a week?" she paused for a second to glance at him before continuing. "I need my space,"

And he gave her what she had asked from him. But then again, no one would have expected things between them to change so much within a time span of seven short days.

He held out his hand, catching the tiny little snowflakes in his palm, as he adjusted his beanie on top of his head with his other, and let out a deep sigh, his breath clearly visible in front of him.

He had always loved winter, as he was from a country with a tropical climate all year round. He loved the cold air, despite it being too chilly sometimes for his liking. But these days, he sort of didn't want to see the white snow.

"Are you just going to stand there, BamBam?" his friend, Mark, shouted as he motioned for him to hurry up and walk with him to the nearest cafe. "I'm freezing here!"

BamBam let out a small genuine laugh as he rushed over to his older friend. They quickly turned the corner and went inside the cafe, Mark heading to orders hot drinks and BamBam to find the both of them an empty table.

He blew air into his cupped hands, trying to warm them, as he wasn't exactly fond of gloves. Minutes later, Mark headed to the table, a tray in his hands. He set it down on the table; BamBam immediately grabbed one of the cups and held on to it with both hands. He took a careful sip, the hot coffee practically burning his throat, but he enjoyed the warmth otherwise.

He pulled out his phone from his pocket and turned it on. Waiting for it to turn on, he placed it on the table first and took another drink.

"You're not over her."

He raised his head, looking at his friend who was staring at his phone, where the wallpaper was seen clearly. He shook his head and dropped his gaze, drumming his fingers on the table.

"Cheer up, BamBam! Christmas is in a week and you're still depressed over a girl who left you for another guy nearly a year ago. You should at least be making an effort to move on! For god's sake, you're not seventeen anymore!"

Seventeen was the age where he experienced everything. First love, first girlfriend, and first heartbreak. It turned out that she was just using him because of his popularity and never actually loved him. BamBam, on the other hand, was willing to sacrifice anything and everything just to make her happy.

"Just because I'm not a teenager anymore doesn't mean I can move on faster than I could before,"
"That's because you're not even trying,"

It was true. BamBam was making no effort to move on from his most recent girlfriend because he simply didn't want to forget her. He loved her with all his heart, promising to even love her until his death. He believed that she would be his forever, but like the first girlfriend he had, she left him.

No, not because she was just using him, but because she never ended up getting over her first love. Which was just as bad.

She swore to him that she really did love him, that she had real feelings for him, but it merely wasn't enough. Yeah, that's right. Everything he gave her wasn't enough to have her love him more than her first love.

"She's my universe, Mark."

The tone he used in saying that was the one that Mark could never answer to anymore. It was the one that spoke 'end of discussion' Sweet as saying that may sound, it hurt his heart a little bit to speak it, knowing that even though she was his universe, that was it. He could never be hers, and it would only be another cliche one sided love like in the dramas and love stories.
