Chapter 22

'You know what is funny?'

I turn around to face him, finally not being able to contain my frustration. He had been following me from a safe distance silently since I march out of the roadside stall incident earlier.

'The idea that you told my ex husband off.'

I let out as I watch his brows arch, probably surprised I decided to talk to him. My hands grip into a tight fist as he continue looking at me with the surprised look. Clearly, he isn't getting what I'm trying to meant.

'At least he really did love me at the beginning. But you, you deliberately played with my feelings. You were fake with me since the moment we first met.'

I glared at him when his eyes widen and his brows knitted together, seemingly frustrated with what I just said.

"I am sincere, I've never lied about my feelings for you.."

I watch as he tried to find the right words. I can only shake my head in anger as I shut him off. Nothing he says can change anything now. Its all a lie. It started with a lie. And I know that much that anything that starts with a lie will never have a happy ending. Well, maybe to him, if he get that yatch they were betting about.

'I shouldve known. You, confidence, smart, charming, rich. Someone like you wouldn't fall for someone like me.. broken, struggling, boring..me...'

I almost wince as my last few words came out in a whisper. Almost as if I myself were too embarrassed to speak about me. I sigh as I quickly push back a tear that had fallen onto my cheek. What am I even doing right now? What good will it come up with me venting out my feelings to him?

"That's not you. I never thought of that about you.."

Looking back up at him, my lips twitch upwards. Not a happy smile. Never can it be a happy smile. I should have notice back then, this man, whom I've thought was perfect...never can be mine to begin with.

'Its okay.'

I let out as I gave up any more interactions with him. We should never cross path again, we from two different world, we shouldn't have even crossed path before this.
