Chapter 34

"Call me when you're back?"

A kiss on my lips before he let me off the sideway nearby my ex husband place.

I nodded my head as I wave goodbye to him before signaling him to drive off first.

I look down at the red scarf he made me put on before we made it out the door and let out a soft chuckle. I must look weird wearing a scarf with a summer dress, I guess that's what he wanted me to look like in front of my ex.

A little pat on the scarf, I decided to leave it on anyway as I walk down the street to the house.

"Mummy!"

I heard Ethan excited squeal way before I manage to spot his small figure hiding behind the gate.

'Ethan! How are you?'

I squeal along as he jump up and down waiting for his father to push open the gate.

"Brought him to the pool earlier today, but still energized as ever this little boy."

My gaze went from Ethan to his father , his smile was one I'm too familiar with, the one that got me to believe we could last forever.

'Hope you had a great time too'

I return with a polite smile before I kneel down to grab Ethan into my embrace.

"Hope you were with us, maybe the next time.."

I watch as Ethan give his dad a peck on his cheek, closing the distance between us as Ethan stretch towards him.

'I will drop him the next month then. Thank you.'

I manage to hold Ethan back into my embrace, keeping the distance in between us safe again.

"Hanna"

His hands grip onto my wrist as I was about to turn away.

"..come in for a cup of tea?"

Pulling my wrist free, I look back at him. The look of an innocent man, one that make it seems like he is the good man here while I'm the evil one.

'I thought we got the message straight. Just a father. Not a husband.'

Warning him with a stare, I turn away with Ethan in my arms.

"Bye bye papa!"

Ethan wave excitedly as we leave. I sigh with relief, another meeting safely pass and already dreading the next one.
