Doomsday

"What's down there?" Jackie demanded. "She was in that room with the sphere. What's happened to Rose?"

    The Doctor shook his head. "I don't know. I'll find her. I brought you here, I'll get you both out, you and your daughter. Jackie, look at me. Look at me. I promise you. I give you my word." Jackie nodded and the Doctor turned to me. "And you, Nikki. I promise to get you out as well."

The Cyberleader spoke. "You will talk to your central world authority and order global surrender."

    "Oh, do some research." Yvonne rolled her eyes. "We haven't got a central world authority."

    "You have now. I will speak on all global wavelengths. This broadcast is for humankind." Before the Cyberleader spoke, the Doctor put on his 3-D glasses. "Cybermen now occupy every landmass on this planet, but you need not fear. Cybermen will remove fear. Cybermen will remove sex and class and colour and creed. You will become identical. You will become like us." Something must've happened on Earth, because the Cyberleader spoke again. "I ordered surrender."

I walked forward. "They're not taking instructions. Don't you understand? You're on every street, you're in their homes, you've got their children! Of course they're going to fight."

"Scans detect unknown technology active within Sphere chamber." The Cyberleader spoke.

"Cybermen will investigate." A Cyberman spoke.

    "Units ten six five and ten six six will investigate Sphere chamber."

"We obey." The Cybermen left, with clunking footsteps.

"Units open visual link." The leader commanded. A Cyberman's view came up on Yvonne's laptop. "Visual contact established."

A creature in the sphere like thing spoke. "Identify yourselves."

The Cyberman spoke. "You will identify first."

"State your identity." The thing demanded.

"You will identify first." The Cyberman repeated.

"Identify!" It screamed.

"That answer is - and illogical. You will modify." The Cyberman stated.

    "Daleks do not take orders."

"You have identified as Daleks."

"Rose said about the Daleks." Jackie said. "She was terrified of them. What have they done to her, Doctor? Is she dead?"

The Doctor ignored her and hold out his hand. "Phone."

"What?"

"Phone!"

I handed the Doctor my mobile and he dialed as the Cyberman spoke.

    "We followed in the wake of your sphere."  

The Doctor sighed in relief. "She's answered. She's alive. Why haven't they killed her?"

"Well, don't complain!" Jackie stated.

    "They must need her for something." I stated.

"The Genesis Ark?" The Doctor asked.

The Cyberman spoke again. "Our species our similar, though your design is inelegant."

The Doctor put on his 3-D glasses.

"Daleks have no concept of elegance."

"This is obvious. But consider, our technologies are compatible."

"Doctor," I asked. "What are Daleks?"

"You remember I told you I'm the last Time Lord?" I nodded. "Well, that happened through the Time War. And the War was between Time Lords and Daleks. The somehow survived, though." I nodded my understanding.
