Merlins POV
_____________"I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may now kiss the bride." I smiled in joy as Morgana leaned forward. Accepting Sir Leons kiss. A rosy blush adorning her cheeks.
I was so happy for her. She finally got her happily ever after. Yet part of me couldn't help but feel jealous. Here she is making it look easy and yet Arthur refuses to even acknowledge my womanly presence. To busy longing over Gwen who is clearly besotten with lancelot. Yet even after Lance proposed to Gwen. Arthur still refuses to even glance my way.
Sighing I returned my thoughts to the present. Maybe its time I let go of my silly dreams of marrying and starting a family. After all look at what happened to the last guy I tried to date. It turned out to be a vampire out for my magic. Maybe being Arthurs magical body guard meant that I would never be allowed happiness of my own. Sometimes I think destiny can be so cruel.
"If everyone would please proceed to the ballrom we will celebrate this joyous occasion with a small party." Arthur announced. Directing everyone out of the chapel. Following along. I attempted in vain to focus my mood back on the joyous festivities rather then my own pity party. Sometimes I think I can be such a drama queen. I was just about to head over to where Morgana is to congratulate her when Arthur suddenly appeared infront of me holding a tray of food.
"Merlin what are you doing hurry up and start serving the guests." Arthur demanded Pushing the tray into my arms. Conveniently forgetting how he told me just this morning I would be a guest myself. So much for that. No point in making a fuss. Plastering on a hsppy smile for Morganas benefit. I began walking around. Offering snacks to the partying guests. While also attempting to avoid the grabby hands of the drunk nobles.
"Hey quit it." I Hissed as one of the nonles attempted to trip me for a laugh.
By the time the party was half way done. I was very close to snapping but still I tried to force it down in an attempt to not ruin Morgana special day. I was just debating whether Arthur would notice if I slipped out when....
"AHHHH!!" Morgana and I screamed. Clapping our hands forcefully over our ears as a high pitched scream rent through the happy ceremony. My tray of food falling to the ground. Not that anyone noticed over our screams of pain.
"Morgana whats wrong are you ok?" Immediately everyone surrounded the princess searching for whatever caused her reaction. No one but Morgana and I being able to hear the scream. No one noticing that I was much more affected then Morgana. Probably because i have more magic.
Cracking open my tear filled eyes blood seeping between my fingers still clasped over my ears. I gazed into the hooded eyes of a wrinkly old lady. A solemon look on her face as she stared me down. Her lips parted speaking only two sentences before I lost the fight and passed out.
"The veil has been torn asunder. Beware the dorocheas of death Emrys." At the same time as I fell backwards unconscious. Morgana breathing a sigh of relief as the screams stopped removed her hands from her blood free ears.
Yet still no one notices my unconscious form until Morgana being escorted from the room by Leon nearly trods on my arm. Only then does anyone notice I was also affected. Only then does my blood guard finally notice their marks burning a warning that their charge is hurt, but hey thats nothing new right. I guess I am invisible even to the end.
