there are several unspoken rules between two people who separated ways without a proper closure.
at first, you do not call.
no matter how much you crave to tell them a story, to gain their sympathy, to seek validation; when your hands tremble and instinctively type down their phone numbers, you must erase them in an instant and throw the idea out of the window.
let it fall on the concrete, or let it slip and drown in the river.
haven't you cried enough to make an ocean?then, you don't tell them that you still find them in the crowds, yeah... as a shadow, sometimes a person that looks alike; one like a long-lost time.
soft cheeks, prominent laugh.
you don't tell them how many times you almost called out and waved, how many times you turned around and caught a second glance, you don't tell them how much you wished it was really them.
you don't tell them how sick it made you feel.three, you do not tell them how much you remember. not of the way they gently held, not the way they made you believe, have hope.
now you gotta act like a blank page; need to meet new people, busy yourself, continue your days. live, love someone else, and keep it all in the back of your mind until it dies with you at the end of time.
