I woke up to 3's shaking, coughing, and crying
"3...3 wake up. Dude. Get up." I said while shaking him
He woke up with a strangled groan
"We should go to a doctor 3." I suggested
"W-what about 1 or 2?" 3 counterfeited
He counterfeited my idea and I shrugged and nodded, I looked over at my clock that's on my bedside dresser

I snatched my phone and called the 2 toy-like older guardians,
"Hello guardian 4!" 1 said cheerfully
"Hello!" 2 followed quickly after
"Hey smg1 and smg2, uhm somethings up with smg3 right now, do you mind if we meet at your cabin in the graveyard?" I spitballed
"Of course not, c'mon over!" 1 happily said
"Okay we'll be there soon." I barely audibly said
I hung up and gently grabbed 3's hand.
"I need your help to open a portal." I felt my blush appear, it always felt awkward using our powers
He nodded and I closed my eyes, focused real hard until I heard a unknown noise, I opened one eye and they're was a portal I let go of 3's hand and got up and walked into it, he followed after me, but not before calling Terrance and eggdog.
We made it almost immediately to the cabin, the 2 toy guardians waved to us with a joyful smile on they're faces...that dropped quickly after all 3 of us heard a thud.
"OH MY LORD!" 2 screamed
The yellow meme guardian ran towards the 2 of us...well the unconscious one, I turned around and found three passed out with 2 next to him checking him, making sure he's ok...Making sure hes...okay...
"What's wrong with him" smg1 said as his antenna pointed down
"We were hoping you'd know." My voice soundedmsomber as I spoke
Smg1 shallowly nodded and walked inside the cabin, I picked up smg3, smg2 still looking at him as I picked him up and followed after
"Stay here 4, 1 will make sure 3's okay.." 2 said trying to comfort me.
"Okay 2..." I mumbled
I sat down on one of the seats they had in their cozy little cabin, the place had a few rugs, their coffee table had a potato with a hat glued to it on it, pictures of spudnick were on the wall, so we're pictures of the 2 of them, fairy lights lined the wall, there was tapestry on the ceiling, plants at various places around the house, the ace flag also on the wall, the shelves had projects and gizmos on them colored cyan and yellow, more photos....
"they're inseparable.." I mumbled under my breath.
Closing my eyes I thought about 3 and I....mostly about 3.
His ruby eyes, his nicely trimmed facial hair, the way he cares about all the dead memes, or his kids as he says...God who would care about all the kids if he...dies...his..his overall kind gestures, the way he acts like a tsundere.
Just as I was about to dose off 1 walks in, 2 next to him, looking guilty, almost anguished.
"So uhm good news and bad news..." 2 mumbled out,.
"Bad news first so its over with." My face warped into worry as I spoke
"So uhm 3..is gonna die, even if his crush likes him back." 1 said, his antenna pointing down again
I felt my stomach drop
"W-whats the good news...?" I mumbled out through shocked eyes
"Well 3's awake and he knows, and, theres a temporary fix, he can survive if he absorbs a dead meme with a strong connection to him, he can live if his crush returns his feelings." 2 tried to lighten the mood as he spoke
"Like eggdog...?" My face got more worried
"No, uhm eggdog is technically still a living meme, she's an in-between, that's why she's allowed to be in the living realm for so long." 1 explained
"I.. I just wanna see him, we'll work this out together...." my voice bitter as I spoke
2 nodded and gestured me into the room, I walked in, seeing eggdog, Terrance and 3, 3 looked....out of it....
"It'll work out thre-" I tried to comfort before I was cut off
"Clik click (I volunteer)" Terrance spoke making smg3 go wide eyed
"NO WAY IN HELL! I just got you back Terrance, I'm not loosing you again!" Smg3 yelled out
"click clik clok clik click(but papa, i fit the criteria, im not an in-between like eggy, im strongly connected to you! And you can finally stop acting like such a simp." Terrances teased the last part but reasoned well
Smg3 went silent, eggdog whined, and Terrance climbed into smg3's lap
"Terrance...You can't...." 3 mumbled
Terrance hugged 3....both of them knew what was about to happen.
"I love you terrance." Smg3 hugged Terrance as he spoke
Terrance let out a click as he faded to energy in 3's arms, the energy threw itself into 3, 3 silently cried, eggdog and I looked at eachother before we both went up yo 3 and hugged him, 3 just cried, mumbling terrances name as he opened a portal home, I let go but eggdog climbed up to 3's head and 3 walked through.
"Thank you 1 and 2." I called out before walking after 3
I saw 3 plop down onto my bed, it was still early we could nap, I crawled in next to him and he immediately snuggled into me while he sobbed.
I couldn't sleep, however 3 cried himself to sleep, I rubbed his back and I laid in bed, awake....wide awake...with fear.
