I stood, shaking, on a stage in front of hundreds of people. They all stared at me as though expecting something. I didn't remember how I got up here or why I was here. My mouth began to talk, obviously guided by my panicked brain.

"I think I'm having a panic attack," I said without thinking "too bad this isn't a disco!" I saw people laughing and my eyes caught sight of Panic! At The Disco. The actual band. I let out an involuntary gasp.

"Welp, I've now met two of my favorite bands... now where's Imagine Dragons so I can pass out!"  This resulted in another round of laughter.

"I'm gonna sing Where Did The Party Go by, well, these guys," I said, gesturing behind  me to the band. "Hope you all enjoy" I took a deep breath and closed my eyes. I know the lyrics by heart. When my eyes flew open I was already singing along to the music.

"Na na na na na na na na na na

Na na na na na na na na na na

I'm here to collect your hearts

It's the only reason that I sing

I don't believe a word you say but I can't stop listening

This is the story of how they met

Her picture was on the back of a pack of cigarettes

When she touched him he turned ruby red

A story that they'll never forget

Never forget

And all the boys are smoking menthols

Girls are getting back rubs

I will drift to you if you make yourself shake fast enough

My old aches become new again

My old friends become exes again

Whoa, where did the party go?

We're ending it on the phone

I'm not gonna go home alone

Whoa, where did the party go?

Na na na na na na na na na na

Na na na na na na na na na na

I know I expect too much

And not enough all at once

You know I only wanted fun then you got me all fucked up on love

Oh I hoped for your name on the Ouija Board

And your naked magic, oh dear Lord

You and me are the difference between real love and the love on TV, love on TV

And all the boys are smoking menthols

Girls are getting back rubs

I will drift to you if you make yourself shake fast enough

My old aches become new again

My old friends become exes again, yeah

Whoa, where did the party go?

We're ending it on the phone

I'm not gonna go home alone

Whoa, where did the party go?

Na na na na na na na na na na

Na na na na na na na na na na

We were the kids who screamed

"We weren't the same, " in sweaty rooms

Now we're doomed to organizing walk-in closets like tombs

Silent film stars stuck in talking cinema life

So let's fade away together one dream at a time

Na na na na na na na na na na

Na na na na na na na na na na

Whoa, where did the party go?

We're ending it on the phone

I'm not gonna go home alone

Whoa, where did the party go?

Na na na na na na na na na na

Na na na na na na na na na na

Na na na na na na na na na na

Na na na na na na na na na na

Na na na na na na na na na na

Na na na na na na na na na na

Na na na na na na na na na na "

I felt exhilarated and exhausted. People called for more so I belted a round of The Phoenix. I jumped from the stage, my black dress billowing around me. I landed unsteadily on my heels. Pete came to the edge of the stage and crouched down to talk to me.

"You know there were stairs three feet away right?" He nodded to hi left at the stage  stairs. I shrugged and he laughed. "Where are you going anyway?" He laughed again.

"To change out of this uncomfortable piece of tulle and deathtraps they call shoes! I almost fell off the stage twice!" I exclaimed.

"You didn't fall you jumped." He smirked. I rolled my eyes asked away. The crowd was hard to navigate, but I managed.

When I got to the  bathroom I changed into my Panic! At The Disco tee and black jeans. I pulled on a leather jacket and leather boots, put on bracelets, necklaces, did my hair and reapplied my makeup with lighter hand. I was unrecognizable to the girl who had stood on the stage, panicked.

When I found Pete he looked surprised by my sudden change in appearance. He shook it off and led me to the Fall Out Boy dressing room, sitting me on a couch.  The rest of the band was there, including Patrick.

"We want you to join the band." someone said.
