Y/n's POV

As we walked in the restaurant, the waiters took us to our table as we waited for Chan's parents to arrive. A few minutes later, Chan spotted his parents so we went to go greet them.

*bows*

"Hello mrs and mr bang, I'm y/n and im your son's girlfriend"

Mr bang: "My dear y/n, Chan has told me so much about you! I'm excited to learn more about you."

Mrs bang: "Y/n!" *hugs her* "how you've been doing? You've grown so much since the last time ive seen you. Your mom has been bragging about how beautiful you are, and looks like she was correct"

*smiles*

"You must be hungry! Chan and I ordered already so we just have to wait for the food now. Our table is over there"

The smell of grilling pork filled the air at the restaurant, creating a cozy vibe. The meat was sizzling away on the grill, providing a chill background to our conversation. The place had dim lights and a rustic wood decor, making it perfect for a relaxed family dinner. We were all seated, enjoying the meal, and Mr. and Mrs. Bang, Chan's parents, were leaning in, showing interest in getting to know me better.

Mr. Bang grinned and asked, "So, Y/N, it must've been awkward living with a guy you didnt know. How did you guys get close?"

I smiled and replied, " We were both very shy so my mother had to step in. She made us hang out together every saturdays against our will for 2 months. But within about 3 weeks we were more than happy to do that."

Mrs Bang chucked, "That does sound like something Seoeun would do"

Mrs. Bang seemed intrigued, "That's quite an experience, how long until you guys got comfortable with each other? "

I thought for a while, "It didnt take very long considering I was the only friend Chan had at school. So he would eat lunch with me sometimes. I think it took about a month for us to become very close"

Mr. Bang nodded, "Moving to a new country must've been a big change for both you and Chan, but it looks like it worked out well."

As the evening went on, we talked about various things. Mrs. Bang turned to me and asked, "Y/N, do you have any hobbies you're really into?"

I leaned in, excited to share, "Definitely! I love painting and photography. It's my way of expressing myself and capturing moments. Im thinking of becoming an artist in the future"

Mr. Bang nodded in understanding, "That's cool. Having a creative outlet is important."

During a moment of awkwardness during the conversation, I asked "By the way, Mr. Bang, Mrs. Bang, do you have any memorable stories from your younger days?"

Mrs. Bang laughed softly, "I used to be part of a choir. Singing was a big passion of mine."

Mr. Bang joined in, grinning, "And I was quite the bookworm. Spent hours in the library, lost in stories."

We all shared a laugh picturing the young couple together. The atmosphere was laid-back, and it felt like we were old friends just hanging out.

As the dinner continued, I became curious, "Mr. Bang, Mrs. Bang, do you have any new dreams or goals you're pursuing?"

Mr. Bang and Mrs. Bang exchanged a glance, as if sharing a secret. "For us, it's all about seeing our kids happy. Their dreams become our dreams too."

Their sentiment was heartwarming, highlighting their strong family bond.

3rd POV

Later, when Y/n excused myself to use the restroom, Mr. and Mrs. Bang shared a brief smile.

Mrs. Bang leaned toward Chan and said, "Chan, we really like Y/N. She's genuine and easy to talk to."

Mr. Bang nodded, agreeing, "Yeah, she seems like a great fit. You've got a good thing going."

As Y/n returned to the table, the conversation continued. By the end of the evening, she felt like they were already family.

It was getting late and Chan's parents were tired so Y/n and Chan called a cab and bid their goodbyes. When Mr and Mrs Bang were out of sight, Y/n let out a relieved sigh

"Omg I was so nervous. Do you think they like me?"

"Dont worry, Im sure they love you. You did great!"

The couple decided to leave too. Chan drove Y/n back to her house and of course didnt leave without a few stolen kisses. Driving back to the dorm alone, Chan's mind buzzed with uncertainty. When should he tell her? He didn't want to make her worry.

(This was a very short chapter. Im sorry for the decreasing updates lol. I have a chinese test, chemistry test, geometry test, and history test on thursday and friday along with a english spelling and vocab test next week. Anyways its time to vent. Im getting so annoyed of all the toxic dives and stays. Im trying my best to decrease the hate on ive's instagram posts but all i get in return is hate from dives. Stays are also too much sometimes. I wish div1 would just bring back chan's room and for the stays and dives to stop."
