Amy's mother looked at her dad and nodded before turning her head back to Amy "Hun, we need to go downstairs." she said, gently stroking Amy's face.
Amy's eyes shifted to the blade that was still laying on the floor and nodded. Maybe there was still some time before she had to do the unthinkable she thought as she got up on her feet.
As Amy made her way down the stairs, her mother sat her down on the sofa. She spotted a tall dark shadow standing in the kitchen and even though the fire was burning, everything felt cold.
"Amy." her mother whispered as she kneeled in front of her "Is she here?"
"Amy, remember, we are doing this my way." Isla spoke as she appeared behind her mother. Amy shook her head, letting out a sob, digging her nails into her leg to make sure she was still awake, but her mother stopped her."It's going to be okay." her mother tried to reassure her as she stood up and carefully started to wrap her rosary in between her fingers and around her wrist.
"I would suggest you excuse yourself, it's time." Isla smiled, walking around the room, watching Amy's parents fussing around.
"I can't." Amy whispered closing her eyes, knowing Isla would send her into a vision.
Isla sighed in frustration, clenching her jaw as her eyes focused on Amy.
"Amy, take this and keep it on you at all times." she heard her mother say as she felt something being placed in her hands. Amy opened her eyes and saw it was a rosary, one that looked identical to her mothers. She didn't want to look at her mother, she didn't want to have to say goodbye but knew she didn't have a choice. Deep down she knew she couldn't handle anymore visions the thought that she was slowly going insane was too much for her.
Slowly she got up to her feet, put the rosary around her neck and headed towards the kitchen.
"Amy where are you going?" her mother shouted after her.The room felt busy and noisy, but she didn't want to stop to see what was going on, she was only focused on the task at hand. She could hear her father chanting something, maybe a verse from the bible, she wasn't sure.
"Amy?" her mother called out again, the panic in her voice was undeniable but Amy didn't stop walking, instead she walked straight into the kitchen to where her parents kept the carving knifes,.
"That's it." Isla whispered as she appeared out of nowhere like she always did.
Amy sucked in a breath as she picked up the sharpest knife from the drawer. Her fingers wrapping themselves tightly around the handle as she slowly lifted her arm and placed the blade to her throat. Taking a deep breath in her entire body started to tremble."Do it"! Isla encouraged her.
"Amy Stop!" her mother screamed "Ed, hurry!"Amy's vision became blurry from her tears, the sound of her heart pounding resonated in her ears as she pressed the knife down.
"AMY NO!" her mother yelled as she grabbed Amy's arm.
"M-mum?" Amy whispered with a tremble in her voice, looking down at her hands wondering where the knife went.
"I'm here." her mother replied, still with her hand on Amy's arm.The kitchen turned into the forest, It's always the forest Amy thought as she tried to catch her breath. Amy knew she was in a vision but she had no idea how her mother was here too.
It felt darker than before, the mist was heavy, the trees were taller, and the air felt colder. Amy looked at her mother, her eyes darted around her face, confused as to how this was even possible.
