"Okay class so now that we got seated we're going to be doing a little get to know me game. Like an ice breaker you say your name and your power and then point at someone for them to go next" Mr. Oshiko said, everyone got hyped up. I froze in fear, I don't know what my power is, I have no idea what to say. Just then a piece of paper was passed to me from Yuki, "It's from Zero" she whispered to me, I looked at him as he waved I waved back and opened the paper 'Just tell them your power is being able to draw things, you are good at it anyways' it read, I looked at him as if he was out of his mind he laughed.
"First up Kuragari" he said pointing at the guy beside me, he stood up before speaking, "I am Kuragari and my power is sometime like copying other powers" he said, "That's very nice Kuragari" Mr. Oshiko said, Kuragari pointed at me then sat down, I hesitated to stand up but as soon as I did I felt a sharp pain in my chest. Everything got darker and darker by the second. I opened my eyes to see I was outside, everything was destroyed, everyone was on the ground. I seemed to be the only one there. "Kaito.." a weak voice whispered to me.
I felt a hand on my back. I turned around to see Zero. He had blood dripping down his face half of his body was gone, he used his hands to pull him closer to me. "Zero! What happened!?" I asked, "Shh, I know it's been a while since we talked but I want you to have this" he took off his necklace and gave it to me before passing out from blood loss. I shook him around screaming his name before someone spoke.
"It's no use Kaito. He's gone, now that you had your fair share it's time to give it back" I backed away from the shadow figure I saw glowing golden eye's stare at me, I felt myself being lifted off the ground. "You had the time of your life but forgot to do the most important thing" his voice started to fade and my vision was getting blurry. I remember a white flow of light slowly started to get pulled out of me before I woke up again. "Kaito!" Zero said, I sat up looking around.
"You're in the nurses room you seemed to have passed out before you could say much" he said, I got off the bed and put my shoes back on. "No, the teacher said you need to rest till the nurse gets here" I shook my head, "No, it's okay let's get back to class" I said walking off. "Kaito, Zero what are you two doing back?" Mr. Oshiko asked, "I'm feeling better so don't worry" I said sitting down, Yuki looked at me and smiled, "I'm really glad you're okay!" she said, I smiled back at her. "Thanks" the teacher put everyone into groups of three.
I was praying to be in a group with Yuki and Zero but even if I'm not it's nice to get to know people. "Akaya, Zero, and Ken for the first group" Zero smirked, I think Akaya was the girl he was drooling over earlier. " Momo, Seth and Sora for the second group, Kei, Shoto and Ren for the third group, Keiko, Sora and Yuki for the fourth group" he said, I looked at everyone in their group the only people left were me and Kuragari, I sighed and looked over and Zero, he had Akaya holding his hand like some married couple.
"Now for you two, you guys can work in a group together" He said, Kuragari smiled at me and I awkwardly smiled back. "Okay everyone, this is where you'll be put into break out rooms so everyone has to use their powers there are cameras around the place you and your group have to build something based off of your guys power but no cheating or we will see and it will be a automatic 0" he said, everyone nodded and he took each and everyone of us to our breakout rooms, I tried talking to Zero on the walk there but he ran up to catch up with his girlfriend. For some reason it reminded me of my dream when he apologized for not talking to me as much or something like that.
Kuragari latched onto my arm on our way there, "Don't worry you got me for the time being" he smiled, I guess he wasn't wrong so I smiled back. As soon as everyone got into our room Mr. Oshiko came to our room and gave us a box of wood, "Here try to build something out of these things since you both have complicated powers' ' he said, I thought to myself for a second, how does he know our powers are complicated? "Well it's not that hard, my power is mind reading that's why if you cheat I will know, but I know for a fact you don't know your power yet and as for you Kuragari I know that your power has something to do with having more than one, it is pretty rare for that to be gifted to someone" He said circling around him, I moved back a bit. "But other than that it's all I can see in your mind, almost as if you don't want me to find out or that your power is just a few small ones."
He turned around and walked out the door, "Good luck you too" he said walking off. "That was scary..." he said, I nodded in agreement. "So what are we going to build together?" I asked him, "Well I was thinking we could make something like a mini kart. '' I cocked a brow at him, "And how would we get a motor? Make it out of wood or something?" I asked, he laughed at me. "No, not at all, I can build a working motor with wood but you have to find me wires in that bin over there" he pointed, I looked behind me and saw a big blue tub of wires. I pulled it down and started looking through the box to find any wire that we needed.
"Okay what do you think?" he asked, he then lifted up a motor made from wood, it looked amazing like it was metal with a wood texture."Oh, this is awesome!" I said, he laughed before picking up the wires I had grabbed out and used his magic to merge them together. The bell rang for the end of the day, since it was the first day we only got half everyone else had the whole day but next week they got half. "Do you wanna hangout after school?" he asked, "Sure! Do you want to go to my house or yours?" I asked, he quickly responded. "Your house definitely! My family isn't home for the week and my sister gets taken to my aunts after so we should go to your house" I picked up the box and shook my head. "Alright" I said, we walked out the room with the key that had our names on it and handed it to the teacher as everyone else did and we walked outside on the court to the bus.
I turned around and saw Zero behind me, "Hey Zero do you wanna come over today? Kuragari is also coming" I said, he sighed and shook his head. "Sorry man, I'm going to a restaurant with Akaya and Ken maybe another time?" He asked, I felt a bit upset but I guess it was fine. I shrugged. "See you later" "Bye!" he said, running off the other way, once we got on the train Kuragari sat down and started talking. "So about my family, I'm not going into full detail but let's just say I don't have a good relationship with them, their only around when they want money or something" he said, I felt bad for him so I gave him a hug, the bus finally stopped and we got off and went to the elevator, nobody ever really left unless it was night but I got school and my mom has a job. "I don't like elevators," he said.
I laughed at him, who doesn't like elevators. The only problem is going down in one because you feel the small drop at the end, "What level?" he asked, "Uhm, four" I said, he pressed the button that took us to level four. The elevator stopped with a chime sound as we got off, I grabbed his arm and took him to room 104, my house number, inside the apartment was a two story small house so we had more than enough room for others to come over. I opened the door and was greeted by my mom, "Honey, welcome home! How was school?" she asked, I shrugged and moved aside to show her Kuragari, "Oh, you made a new friend, how wonderful!" she said, she grabbed his hands and smiled. "I am Too nice to meet you, call me mom if you're comfortable with it." she said, he smiled back and nodded.
"Nice to meet you too, miss, I am Kuragari but some people call me Kura" he said, my mom grabbed our bags and I took him upstairs to my room. "Wow, I don't think i've been in an apartment with another floor in one room" he said, I laughed, "Yeah, my mom knows the owner of here so we got a discount" I said, his eyes trailed to the pictures on the wall and then to my room. Bright blue glowing from my room, I had lights all around but I never turned them off unless I was sleeping.
