Toni's POV
•••"Toni! Toni!" I heard Kenny yell. I groaned as he came running up behind me. I don't need him being down my neck right now.
"Toni! Why didn't you wait for me this morning? I had to take the bus to school." He said, jumping in front of me.
"Aww...I'm so sorry but, I don't run on your time; I run on my time." I pushed him out of the way, getting to my locker where Janet, Jada, and Halle met me.
"Where the fuck is Stacey! I need my coffee!" I said, looking around.
"I'm here! I just fell on the sidewalk." She said, struggling with the drinks, her things, and my things.
"I don't give a damn about your excuse. Coffee now!" She jumped and immediately handed me my drink. She quickly passed everyone else's drink, and as I was about to drink, Jada stopped me.
"What the hell!"
"T, she dropped the drinks in the parking lot." I open the lid to see dirt and rocks in my cup. I look up to give her some words but, I see that she's talking to Kenny. With anger in my eyes, I threw the drink and slapped him.
"And you! You gave me a coffee with dirt, rocks, and shit in it!"
"I'm sorry but, I had a lot of stuff in my hands and-"
"Save it! That's strike one. Two more, and you're gone. Got me!"
"Yes, Toni, I'm sorry."
"Be in my office in ten, with another coffee. Now go!" She quickly nodded her head and ran off.
"Tone, why do you have to be so mean?" Kenny asked.
"Ugh! Shut up! And don't talk to me." I said, walking away.
______________________"Chris, I love it so much! Thank you!" I said, clapping my hands.
"You're welcome, Toni." He said, finishing up altering the dress.
"Toni!" My mother said, barging in.
"Mommy, look at the dress Chris made for me," I said, posing.
"It's beautiful, honey; you're going to stand out very well."
"I know!" I said, getting excited.
"I came here to ask you why didn't you invite Kenny to the party?"
"Because," I said.
"Sweetie, he said that he was sorry-"
"Mommy, no! We don't talk about that day! You promise!" I said, stomping.
"Okay, okay, fine, but still, sweetie, he is very sorry about what he did." She said, coming up behind me resting her hands on my shoulders.
"Yea, I know he is, but still no."
"Ok fine, but don't let your father see you in that dress." She said, kissing my cheek and walking out.
"Ugh! Stacey!"
"Yes, ma'am." I looked at her crazy.
