Lisa's POV

I started knocking on Irene's front door.

I kept on calling her number until I arrived in front of their house but her number was still not in service. After a few more knocks, I felt quite relieved when it was Isaac who answered the door.

"Lisa noona!" Irene's half-brother happily uttered as he hugged me on the waist.

"Isaac, where's your sister?" I immediately asked but he pulled me right away towards their kitchen instead of answering me.

Irene: Isaac, who was— Lali?

I saw Irene trying to make a sandwich made out of jam for two people. I think it's for their dinner. I felt my lips curving from the thought that I was so worried for nothing. The girl I was so worried about earlier is perfectly fine, making sandwiches for her and her half-brother.

I am still happy I came because I do not want them to eat only a sandwich for dinner.

"I came as soon as I found out you're alone with Isaac."

Irene: But how did you know?

"Nayeon called me. She couldn't contact you."

I told her Nayeon's sister saw her grandmother and father at the hospital. Irene then explained that she let Isaac borrow her phone earlier and I guess Isaac drained her phone's battery by playing games.

I opened their fridge and storage cabinet but they only got eggs, kimchi, and ramen noodles. Isaac mentioned her grandma was supposed to go to the market earlier to buy food to cook but couldn't make it because she suddenly felt sick.

I took my phone out to order food delivery but their location is out of service for food delivery services due to the bad reviews about the high crime rate in their area. Many food delivery couriers are getting mugged in this area.

"Let's go. Let's eat outside." I invited them to eat at the nearby eatery house for dinner. Isaac got really excited while Irene hesitated. I felt that she was embarrassed but I know she also doesn't want to feed her half-brother with only a sandwich.

Even if I wanted to bring my motorcycle, the 3 of us wouldn't fit in. I held Irene's hand while she's holding Isaac with her other hand as we made our way to eat dinner.

I ordered a lot of food including take-out so that if Irene's father and grandmother won't be coming home soon from the hospital, they'll have a lot of food they could eat at home since Irene can't cook and Isaac is still too little to make food.

After we ate, we decided to head back to their home right away. I'm thinking of staying with them just in case both of them need a hand, especially Irene. I am more relieved anyway if Irene is in my sight.

"Lali, thank you so much." Irene said shyly.

I held her hand tightly to give her reassurance that it's okay, that she's never a bothersome, and that she's always welcome.

"Even though the apricot jam sandwich you made looks delicious, I was really craving for Gamjatang. That's it." I said to ease her mind.

She chuckled sweetly.
