"You wanted to talk, so talk."
Me and my brothers were sitting in the living room. They basically pounced me the moment I got home, but now that I told them to tell me what's what, they're quiet. I knew exactly what they wanted to say. They wanted to talk about that werewolf kid I helped, and ended up kind of being friends with. I can understand where they're coming from. I mean, he's a werewolf and I'm a vampire, two creatures who are literally on opposite sides of the social circle.
"Ok so, instead of trying to hide the fact that I didn't basically threw my social life down the drain, why don't you say what you wanted to say earlier. Hugo, since you don't really care about the feelings of others, why don't you start?" I suggested. They quickly glanced at each other. I had a feeling they were probably making sure with each other subconsciously or something like that.
"We know you don't really care about what others think of you, but why did you help a werewolf?" Hugo finally asked. "A werewolf. Out of every creature in school, you decided to help the only werewolf." He started ranting off and getting angrier as he went on and on about father and how it would ruin our reputation and the things I already expected from him. He got so mad that he huffed out in frustration, and gave mark the go to start.
"What he's trying to say is, why? Why did you help them when you know the consequences?" he asked while he clasped his hands together. They both glared at me, causing my earlier confidence to dissipate. Now that I thought about it, when I decided he's a good kid, I knew that I'd get beat up. And 'because he's not a bad kid' is not really a good excuse when talking about a werewolf. They looked mad, but after I didn't respond, they both got worried. I leaned back into the couch, letting out a frustrated sigh. "Milo?" mark sounded.
"I don't know. I thought I knew, but now that I think about it, I don't." I confessed as I combed a hand through my hair. Hugo didn't like that answer. "Damn it, Milo. You always do this." He stated before standing up and pacing around the living room. Excuse me? "What's that supposed to mean?" I was irritated. I didn't get that statement, and it irked me on. "You know exactly what it means, idiot!" he exclaimed. "No, I don't. please. Continue."
"You always do these stupid things. You help people who are too wimpy to do it themselves. You take on bigger and stronger people who you can't handle and end up like this. Battered and bruised. And big brothers always have to come save your ass. For god's sake, you never even use your powers. What do you think dad's going to do when he hears about this?" crap.
"he's not going to hear about it- not from you at least. If he get's a call from the school, which is unlikely, I'll handle it. The school wouldn't want to let it get out that they don't care about bullies, even if it's about a werewolf." I retorted as I stood up to meet his gaze. Mark stood up between us and tried to get us to calm down. Keyword: tried. Hugo started to push himself into my personal space and I, his. "And how exactly are you going to 'handle it'? huh? You've never even stood up to mum, much less dad." He snarled. "I never had a reason to." "oh. You have plenty. Especially when it comes to Sonja." I froze. How... "I... I don't know what your talking about." I murmured. Hugo's eyes went wide with anger, before he huffed out in frustration. I looked at mark, who also had an angry expression.
"There. That's exactly what Hugo's talking about. We all know you don't like her, but you don't want to confront dad about it." He said. Damn it. "It's not like that at all. And you guys are changing the topic. Like I said, I'll handle it." I repeated. "We're not changing the topic, Milo. We're giving you an example because you're to hardheaded to accept when your told something you don't like. We're just trying to help you." Mark said before Hugo finally came to sit again. How could they help me? There's nothing to help with.
