"Rinse and repeat."
That has always been Prof. Myven's relationships with his assistants. Hiring them only to be used as living test subjects for his radical experiments, rarely ever treating them as nothing more than stepping stones for a "better" future as he put it in his mind. Countless creatures of all sorts came to his workplace by personal recommendation of Prof. Myven's peers. Supernaturals like ghosts, Fantastical creatures like centaurs, Nigh god-like beings like demi-gods, and countless more became victims to his madness and restless experimentation.
It should have stayed that way, if not for his most recent assistant, an elf with the attribute of water, one of the very few elves with the strongest affinity to their elemental attribute. Prof. Myven's been told little rumors about his newest assistant like that, the murmurs ranged from radically changing the weather to rain or hail at their slightest pain to having absolute control over anything with even the slightest ounce of water within it.
Prof. Myven has to admit, he was a bit intrigued on what kind of person an elf with a high elemental affinity could be, all he knew was that this one isn't going to be easy to subdue should the time come to experiment using his currently work in progress healing solvent.
While Prof. Myven was lost in his thoughts, the door to his office opened up and inside came a tall elven male with warmly tan skin, blue eyes and blue arrayed hair. Myven had to admit, elves had a knack for looking elegant even when it betrays their mischievous natures.
The elf spoke; "Good day, prof. Myven. I am Huyana Varshini, I will be your assistant starting today." With that, the elf took a respectful bow and-
"Yes, yes. You can start today, organize those fluids in the cabinet according to alphabetical order, top to bottom."
"Right away professor."
-so began the lead up to that day.
That night, the skies cried for their most beloved elf.
Prof. Myven...No, Aliyah; never knew how tough it could be after his most loyal assistant died. No, he wasn't sad, just... disappointed.
None of the same profession ever came close to the amount of detail and skill his old assistant did after they died in his latest experiment; a solvent that was supposed to result in the return of one's lost body part or cell.
Not only was his assistant's species; elves, repulsive to any form of external medicine by nature, pairing his so-called life saving solvent with his assistant's blood cells-- or rather, tree sap, caused a highly corrosive substance which dissolved his assistant with a sizzle that resonated within the entire lab, Huyana's ear piercing screams could be heard, the sky responded to their cries with pouring rain.
Aliyah watched in awe to the unique detail of Huyana's dissolving body, it reminded him of opals upon discovery, a shimmering mass of magnificent colors, he paid no mind to their pained and hoarse wails as he poured a single drop of the solvent onto their heart cavity.
....The elf dissolved entirely, leaving only a gem heart behind, an enchanting deep green jasper of the highest quality. This marked the end of his lo— assistant.

...
The more that Myven thinks back on that day, he knew he was being an idiot to ever think that solvent would work on an elf.
Well, there was no going back now, he's got himself a death sentence and is awaiting punishment with no hope of escape.
-
—clack, clack, thump. Finally, the day of reckoning was upon him, as he walks up the steps that seemed ever steeper, he suddenly feels that he's never felt freer than now. Solemn and ignoring the contempt hidden behind squinted eyes, Myven lifts his head, eyes down to the crowd as he smiles as if he was never happier to have his life ended;
"Rinse, don't repeat—"..Cut off as the rope tightened around his throat, Aliyah Myven has uttered his final words and was sentenced to death via hanging.
