Eternal Deathbed

I

I awoke in my bed. My pale body was wrapped in warm red velvet sheets. I look over, seeing my husband also wrapped in the covers, his bulky arms gently wrapped around me. His hair is arranged around his beautiful face, with one strand of white hair near his eye. I gently boop his nose before kissing it, and he wakes up.

"Good morning, sweetheart," he says cheerfully. His voice is soft and calm, reminding me of our times together before the conflict disrupted our lives. He draws me closer and hugs me. I wince quietly and collapse into his arms. "Please be cautious..." I whine slightly as my pain abates once more.

"Ah, dear, I almost forgot about those wounds of yours," Cassius said quietly. "How are you feeling?" he asks, leaving a trail of kisses from my neck to my collarbone and back up again.

"Just in–" I wince once more from his gentle kisses, signaling the strong bodily pain I'm in, "just in slight pain.."

"Mm I see," Cassius said after a brief pause, "Everything will be fine dear, don't worry."

His hands suddenly glowed with his magic, and a warmth filled my body, relieving me of all of my symptoms. Cassius drew me in close.

"Euph dear, Is that better for you?"

"Yes, It is.. Thank you, dear husband."

"Of course, my darling." He kissed me on the lips and dragged me out of bed with him. We changed into our usual attire and made our way down from our bedroom.

We walk down the long spiral stairs to find our little girl, Melois, playing with our personal butler Odis. He carefully spins her around as she giggles with delight. Odis turns to face me and Cassius and settles her down, putting her on her little feet.

She dashes over and greets us with the biggest grin she could give: "Mommy!! Daddy! Hiiii!"

"Hello, sweetheart, your dress is lovely!" I applaud. "Thank you, mommy." Dashing over to Cassius, she embraces him as he scoops her in his arms and kisses her cheek.

"Well, hello to you as well, little one," he says.

I complete my walk down the stairs and up to Odis. He returns the eye contact by standing straight and firm.

"Odis."

"Yes ma'am?"

"How is security? "Has everything been handled?" Odis looks at Cassius and Melois before responding. "I think we should talk in private."

"I see." Using my telepathic power, I send a message to Cassius. He kisses my cheek, taking Melois upstairs as Odis and I walk to the living room. He hands me a fancy red envelope with the name of our estate, address, receiver, and sender written on it. "From Ruiterra Falls."

"While you and Sir Cassius were away, a pixie flew this here and left it in the kitchen, so I kept it." He elaborated. When I opened it, I saw a blank sheet of white ornate paper. I brush my hand across it, and a magical blue and white mist arises from the paper lightly, followed by the words and a soft voice reading them. A bit of hielo magic has been used to enchant it.

And the words read:

Dear Euphorium, we need to have a meeting, it is urgent. Strange things have been happening here in Ruiterra Falls. Our people are under great distress and we're afraid things could happen to your people too. As a co-delegate of the Luenophanes, it is needed for you to be here.

Meet me at 10:30 tomorrow evening, You, your husband, and your dear child. You will know me when you see me.
