(a bit of a filler chapter , the real stuff coming soon)

I sit on my bed, caressing Melois' lovely silver hair whilst rocking her asleep, pondering about the things Amise informed me about. A few tears streamed down my face including some passion crystals that had easily protruded through and fell onto the hand I opened to catch them with.

Walking down the hall, chills traveling in me with every step I take, I carefully set Melois down on her bed and give her a forehead kiss before leaving her room.

I walk to our back garden and admire our Coacrias. They've recently started phlebotomizing, or what the humans call, pollinating; all of the pretty vampire bats have been attracted to the sweet blood-like red sap that the plants emit. But sadly, they are sucking these beauties dry, so I have to be consistent in gardening this time of year.

Melois loves these flowers..so does Cassius.

Getting lost in thought of the flowers, whilst my eyes were filled with them in my sight, I started to think about the distressing news I was informed about the other day. Gloom deluged my heart once again as the ethereal Coacrias watched me give into the sorrow once again.

I can't believe it.

Strange disappearances of folk have been accumulating in devastating numbers and a part of those devastating numbers are my dear brothers and sisters. Somehow the Cryomosabilis' (Ice elves), have been informed of this matter about my siblings instead of reporting it to me which I don't understand, but that's besides the point.

There's a chance that me and my family will be targeted. And because our name is out there, they know us. They know my child and husband exist. And I can't help but panic at the thought. I grasp my arms, hugging my body as I kneel onto the bright, green land and sob.

My brothers and sisters are gone. I haven't talked to them since our parents had deceased. I haven't even seen them when they died. We all got separated due to some unfortunate circumstances that life held at that time.

With the Rirathyes situation that brings more panic onto my chest, knowing that the murderers of my beloved parents are making a rebound in their cruel ways. 50,000 years of peace and now more years of pain and destruction yet to come. I can feel my mother, her unbearable pain and suffering. All of her wounds and sadness from those troublesome times as Luenophanes. I can hear her silent weeps and the sounds of her lovely passion crystals falling onto the cold, hard floor of her bedroom. She cried so much that some crystals emerged partially formed and would shatter on the ground as she wept. As a child, of course she wouldn't tell me everything, not even when the wounds in her eye were noticeable. But I understand it all now. I see it all.

I clear my eyes and slowly get up, cupping my passion crystals in one hand. Kissing the flowers farewells, I step back inside and walk to my room, seeing Cassius thinking by the window.

He seems stressed. I assume it's about the recent news he's gotten; after all these wonderful years of peace, we get pure corruption again.

I quietly walk up to my tense husband, full of fear, confusion, and doubt. I slip my hands around him, pulling him into a hug, and I rest my head on his large back. I feel a warm sensation throughout my body as I feel his body heat up the same, our connection is simply beaming through our bodies. I smile and slowly rub his chest as he puts his huge hand on mine and squeezes it gently, but tight.

"I'm so sorry, my dear," his voice lacerated through our short, silent bond, "I did everything I could to fend those thieves off. Now our precious Melo will have to see the reality of this life we granted her."

He's always worried about our Melois. I mentally chuckle at the thought and squeeze him a bit tighter whilst reassuring him.

"Honey, it's okay, it's a part of living. She'd have to see it someday. They teach about the Rirathyes, along with our other enemies, in the academic system. It's about time she knows now, even if she's only four."
