SCARLETT WAS walking in the halls around school, she was just coming from biology- one of her favourite classes.
Scarlett wanted to be a doctor, she always wanted to help people and she always had a passion for science, but she also knew to keep her options open for when she has to make a choice. Because another thing she loved to do was music and song writing which ties in with journalism.
When she turned a corner, she bumped into something hard, causing everything she was holding to fall.
"I'm sorry," Scarlett immediately apologized, "I wasn't looking where I was going."
"Nah, it's fine," Lucas replied, "I wasn't looking either."
They both bent down to pick up the fallen items- but ended up banging heads. They both fell to the ground, holding their foreheads.
"Sorry," they apologized in unison, before laughing it off.
"You okay?" Lucas asked with a concerned tone, reaching his hand forward to touch her forehead.
Scarlett was in a slight daze, and not from hitting her head against Lucas'. His hand was warm and soft, causing her cheeks to heat up.
"Yeah, I'm fine." She finally answered, gazing into his very blue eyes.
He looked back, staring into her chocolate brown eyes. They sat their, getting lost in each others eyes before a locker slamming closed jumped them both out of their trance.
Both Lucas and Scarlett looked down, slightly embarrassed by their staring.
Lucas got up first, grabbing her items and reaching a hand in her direction for her to take.
Scarlett hesitated for a second before grabbing his hand and letting him pull her up- he ended up pulling her a little to fast, causing their faces to be inches apart.
Scarlett cleared her throat, taking a step back and taking her items back, while trying to ignore the small smirk that appeared on his face.
"Thanks." Scarlett muttered, starting to walk around him.
"No problem," Lucas said, following after her.
Scarlett stopped at her locker, noticing Lucas standing beside her, just watching. She cleared her throat again, "So, you're on the basketball team?"
Lucas nodded, "Yeah, I just joined this season. I usually hang out at the courts by the trailer park." He informed, causing Scarlett's eyes to light up.
"Really? I practice there sometimes, too." Scarlett mentioned, and Lucas nodded with a smile.
"Yeah, I know," Lucas added, "I've seen you there a few times. Decided not to bother you."
