Your first thought was to run. To run after the boy you had fallen in love with. To run after the boy you thought you had fallen in love with. You thought about apologizing, hugging him, kissing him. You watched as you cried in his arms knowing that what had just happened was a mistake.
But you didn't move. Your feet remained motionless against the cold floor of the hallway, right next to Jungkook.... That same Jungkook who didn't deign to look at you while sighing under his breath things inaudible to you. That same Jungkook that if his cousin hadn't stopped you, he might have been glued to your body letting out slight grunts.
Suddenly reality began to hit you very hard, you noticed how your hands were sweating and your temperature was rising. You had eaten Jungkook's mouth, for fuck's sake. It was obvious you were going to feel this way, he was the sexiest guy you'd ever seen in your entire life. But you knew. You knew there was something more between you, a strange and exciting connection, something that no matter how much either of you didn't want to, was bringing you back together. It wasn't just sexual attraction.
And yet you decided to ignore it, to lock that thought in the back of your head. You were going to forget that Jeon, you weren't compatible at all... no matter how much you felt a strange ache in your heart.
You placed your hands at the level of your cheeks in a silly attempt to cover them to make as if that crimson hue had never appeared. Jungkook was still looking down, you didn't know if he was waiting for you to say something or if he was trying to clarify his ideas as you had done a few seconds before. And you decided that when in doubt it's better to be brave: "Jungkook I—" you said.
"This never happened, okay? Forget it, you and I have nothing to do together, it was just a hot flash. I would never notice you because you're basically worthless, I don't know what my cousin can see. You should never have come here, don't ever speak to me again." And just like that he turned to walk away....
But first you grabbed him. With all your strength you grabbed the edge of his shirt in an attempt to prevent his escape. "You're an asshole." Tears stung your eyes and you were sure that telling him that would help them leave. You didn't cry for stupid people.
And what was his reaction? He didn't even flinch, he gave you a dirty look and pulled your hand away abruptly so his shirt lifted up for a moment showing his skin. Showing a small and strange ink mark that you recognized from somewhere, it was like two 'B's where together. But you didn't have time to think it through because Jungkook left, this time for good.
Johyuk. Johyuk! Fuck, you forgot about him, shit.
Trying to leave behind everything that had just happened with Jungkook, you ran towards the doors through which Johyuk had left. The students were already arriving and the place was crowded, you didn't see Johyuk among the sea of heads.
You decided to run a few laps around the place, people were already entering the institute. Tears burned even more in your eyes and were alarmingly threatening to come out, but you wouldn't let them.
There was no sign of Johyuk and you were sure you had lost him. You had something special where you were comfortable and you had to screw it up? All for that stupid moment of lust that hadn't been worth it at all. Only to hate that stupid Jeon even more.
For nothing in the world had you had the best kiss of your life.
Sobbing. You heard sobbing. Who was it? It couldn't be Johyuk, they sounded like they were coming from a woman, close.
Oh. They were yours... you didn't realize it until you noticed the sudden wetness on your cheeks. Well, there was no one to see you, so what difference did it make? At least you were letting go, you thought.
A wave of tiredness attacked your body abruptly. You walked slowly and with little dizziness to your little clearing. There was one thing that had been on your mind for a long time. You needed a rest, too much had happened to you in a short time.
When you arrived at the clearing, you lay down on the ground. You started to cry without fear of being discovered and mumbled things about how you had screwed up with Johyuk. Until you felt someone sit down next to you.
You didn't deign to see who it was, you were embarrassed that it might be Johyuk and that he had seen you cry. You didn't deign to look until he spoke.
"Y/n- I shouldn't have said that," the voice paused for a few seconds waiting for you to look at him, which you did. Your gazes met causing an electric sensation to run through both of your bodies. What was it that you felt? "I'm sorry... I'm really bad at managing my emotions. Would you like to— you know— be friends...?"
Jungkook looked at you with a strange expression. It was clear that even he didn't expect that reaction from him and you even less. It was evident the surprise on your face although it was easily mixed with distrust, which made the boy wait several more seconds, intrigued. Without realizing it you parted your lips, Jungkook had brazenly approached you and your mouths were, again, just a few centimeters apart.
You couldn't.
"It's—it's okay," You couldn't be friends, this was going to end badly. "We can be friends."
And Jungkook... He smiled at you. He smiled at you with a smile that could light up the whole world. It could brighten anyone's day, until that anyone would look into his eyes, seeing for a few milliseconds the reddish glow they caught.
Watching the tip of his mouth turn into more than just an angelic smile, seeing how something white and pointy peeked out from under his precious upper lip—.
"Thank you Y/n, I won't let you down again." And the hug he gave you was just as effective as his smile. Everything was going to be okay, Jungkook was going to help you make things right.
"My dearest Night Rose, the show is starting."
