"Baby, get up. Come on," Naya said, rubbing my back.

"It's too early. I don't wanna get up."

"Well, missy, we have got to go get Julien and Izzie. Come on. I already have your bag in the car. Just get up and take a shower."

"Is she still coming?" I asked.

"Baby, I know you don't have a relationship with her. She's your mom. She deserves to be there with you; it's your birthday celebration. Plus, we are on babysitting duty. You're helping her. You know she comes and sits by your door at night? She misses you."

"If she missed me, she could apologize. Maybe talk to me."

"She doesn't know how. She has spent almost all your life not talking to you; she just doesn't know how."

"Didn't she have Karoline at fourteen?" I asked.

"Well, yeah, we both did," she said.

"Then she has a clue; stop trying to defend her," I begged.

"Alright, princess. Just go get in the shower," Naya said. I got up, and Naya got up with me. She kissed my forehead.

I sat down. Like always, I had the seat next to Naya. I had panic attacks on planes sometimes, so I had to sit with her. Demi had a single seat across from us. Julien and Izzie were seated in front of us.

"You sure you don't want to sit with mom?" Naya asked.

"I am sure. I promise."

"You know you don't have to shut her out sh-"

"I don't care; save it. I am fine where I am."  Naya sighed and nodded. I put in my headphones and closed my eyes.

*Naya POV*

I opened my eyes. We had already been on the plane for an hour. I looked over at Sky. I wiped her messy, wavy hair out of her face. I stood up and looked over the seats; everyone was sleeping.

I returned from the bathroom, and Demi was staring at Sky.

"You can go sit by her; she doesn't bite. She'll cuddle into you," I smiled. Demi looked at me and back at her.

"You sure?" she asked. I nodded. She stood up from her seat hesentaly. She walked over and raised the armrest from in between them. She grabbed the blanket off of Sky and put it over both of them. It was like it was when she was younger. She curled into Demi's side, and Demi put a protective arm over her. I smiled.

If she would just let people see her like this, she hadn't completely shut down. She rarely would even let me see her like this. It made me sad because this was  who everyone fell in love with. Not this pop star, diva, spoiled rotten, look she had going on.

**

We got off the plane, and there was a car waiting for us outside of the airport. Sky, Izzie, and Julien sat in the back and then Demi and I were in the front two seats.

"What are we doing today?" Izzie asked.

"I think we're all just gonna go to the beach," Demi said.

"Lunch first?" Sky asked.

"Sure, baby. Where?"

"Uhm, pizza, maybe?"

"Demi?" I asked. I knew she wasn't fond of pizza.

"Yeah, sure. That's fine," she smiled.
