Rosé's skin glowed in the yellow light and jungkook surveyed her body subtly as they talked and drank. The thin chiffon of her dress lay against her body as she leaned back against the wall. He couldn't keep his eyes off the gentle uplift of her breasts or the lovely curve of her hips or the gentle protrusion of her mound. He tried not to stare, but he couldn't control the temptation. She also didn't seem to mind his perusal of her assets; in fact she appeared to glory in the attention.
"Do you like it here?" Rosé asked.
"It is what it is." He shrugged adding
"I can never get used to seol, although I have been coming here for decades. The humidity, the crowds, the smells...it's all so overwhelming."
"Yes, that it is."
"Very different from Australia, huh?"
"Very different." muttered jungkook. He had grown very fond of rosé with in this short of weeks. She was one of the smart young women he knows. Very strict and ruthless in business matters, attentive and hard working and always asks intelligent and probing questions. He was sure she has a bright future in business carrier ahead of her. Another truth was he had always enjoyed being a mentor to younger smart business minds on the verge of entering careers related to the corporate world. At 33, he had spent his entire adult life in the field and had always felt it an honor and an obligation to give back to young people.
Shah showed tact in his handling. He was able to engage rosé in a very good conversation. She too was participating in the discussion in a good way but still it was clear that he was an expert at handling women. They talked in generalities about life, steering the conversation away from work and the prior week. Perhaps it was the effect of the champagne or the swirling magic of the cold winter night??? but their talk began to drift in a more personal direction. Rosé's next question may have had something to do with that.
"You're not yet married, right?" She inquired in a subtle manner.
Jungkook smiled slightly before shaking his head.
"How come? I'm sure an eligible man of your good looks and status has no problem attracting women." She pondered with her finger tapping her lips in deep thought.
He shrugged his shoulders off. "I don't know. You can probably say I married to my work? My business had always been, and still is, the primary soul-satisfying aspect of my life."
Jungkook paused for a moment then spoke again. "That said, as a successful bachelor about business town, I had never had trouble attracting female companionship when I needed or wanted it. And I will admit to having always been attracted to younger women, especially as I'd aged."
Rosé couldn't help but feel impressed by his honest admission. This man may be an inveterate womaniser but at least he didn't pretend to be as a perfect man like Eunwoo did to her.
"But they are attracted to your money. Not to you" She ascertained with a glint in her eyes.
"Well, that's something, at least. I have always longed for someone who is devoted to me. Entirely. Someone whose first priority is always me. Making my life easier. Better. More. Do you get what I am saying?"
"Hmm.hhh." rosé nodded, eagerly as she peered over the rim of her flute and took another sip. Their glasses were almost empty, yet again, and he grabbed the bottle to refill. The champagne seemed to be fueling their conversation in a very interesting direction.
Jungkook continued. "As I said, someone who can anticipate my needs. Who understands how to calm me after a long day. Who can understand what I'm thinking with a simple look. I wanted someone who can take care of me - business, personal, everything. Unfortunately I never found the woman of my dreams. Not every guy can be lucky as Seokjin and not everyone has what he has, you know."
Rosé's face hardened as she heard it. But jungkook patted her shoulder lightly. She lowered her glass and looked him straight in the eye
"You know one thing I have always choose to believe there is no such thing like a perfect relationship. Perfect life partner, True love, soul mate- these are all fantasies created by stories and movies, that was I thought."
"Then what made you change that opinion?
"What changed me? A Charity Ball Gala experience changed me. Jin and Irene were forced to change my opinion. Although I tried to provoke Jin by taking a swipe at him. I hadn't failed to miss how heavenly they looked as a couple. They are perfectly perfect for each other. Their passion for each other is an intense thing. He is different with her. If she moves, he moves..like magnets. They were frolicking with each other throughout the party. They are still in so much love. Such a kind of love and passion, I have never witnessed anything like that in my entire life."
"Oh stop it. You are going overboard." Rosé felt a surge of irritation flowing through her veins.
"Come on girl. As much I like to hate Seokjin I can't help but admit he is made for her- your half sister Irene. This is not about physical beauty what I am talking about here but compatibility."
"So according to you I have to consider myself below her when it comes suitability?"
"Of course you have to and that's the naked truth. Lets think objectively. By objectively I mean, you arrive at a conclusion by keeping aside your feelings and personal grudges."
"Personal grudges?"
"Just..just hear me out, okay? Basically you are alike to Jin in many things. He is short tempered so do you. He is an angry young man by nature and you also a firecracker. Now look at Irene. If he is fire, she is ice. She is calm and intelligent. By wiser means she is capable of controlling his worst impulses. She understands him better. She is a special one and Jin is punching above his weight. He is one real lucky to be with her. While you and him are no positive and negative. But negative- negative. Opposite always attracts. You should give it a thought"
