Killian

Katy had kicked me out of our room.

She was beyond angry.

I had convinced Katy to put her Wedding band and Engagement ring back on.

It's not that I don't trust her.

I don't trust guys not to be jackasses.

I was moving something with Jack.

We put it down.

Katy arrived on Flicka.

She had my horse, Keith with her.

"Whoa." Katy commented.

Both of us turned around.

"Don't say anything. Just get on."

I didn't move.

"Come on."

I got up on Keith.

We were riding out on the Mountains.

"When the kids were younger, I'd tuck them in and say "I'll love you till the Mountains tumble down." Right now, I feel like they could blow away at any second." I told her.

"Before Dad got older, he asked me if I wanted to sell the Ranch and... Take the money. I said "Over my dead body. No way, no how."

We continued riding on the Mountain.

"I thought that's what he wanted me to say. But, no. He... He seemed almost disappointed. He... He said he felt like that he was giving me something that didn't make any sense anymore. Maybe he's right."

I stopped Keith.

Katy stopped Flicka.

I placed my hand on her shoulder.

"But then I... I see these kids. They're hanging out in the Mall. They're sullen, they're lazy. Got no ambition, got no dreams. This is the only way that I know how to save our children."

"Honey, Howard doesn't need saving. He'll be fine wherever he goes. But Scar, honey, we could lose her. She's... Smart and she's strong, but she can't survive out there."

Katy nodded her head.

"Our daughter lives in a fantasyland."

"So do you. Look at you. Sitting on top of Cowgirl Mountain looking down at the world passing by."

She smiled.

"When are you gonna look at your daughter and realize that she's you?"

Katy looked away.

"And that's why I love her so much."

Katy

I was thinking about what Killian said.

Killian

I playfully hit Katy's Cowboy hat on her head down.

"They want to go to the Rodeo, you know?" She questioned.

"She wants to see Felix."

"Yeah."

"They expect me to say "No."

"Yep."

"I bet I'd really blow their minds if I said "Yes."

Katy smiled at me.

"Then they'd see how diabolical I can really be."

"You are such a bad boy. I love it." She commented.

I kissed Katy's hand.

"Race me back?" She challenged.

"Let's go. Come on."

"Come on, Flicka."

"Last one back's naked first."

Katy laughed.

We were racing.

She was ahead of me.

"Hyah!" I ordered Keith.

He went faster.

Katy whooped.

"I'm gonna win!" I told her.

"Yeah, right!"

"Gotcha!" I told Katy, catching up with her.

I laughed.
