Chapter 15

After Gunwook was done with the chores, he went to the living room where his parents and brother were.
"Can I go and change now?" He asked, not having the courage to look straight at them.

"I don't know, can you?" His parents laughed, quickly joined by his brother.
But Gunwook stood there, frozen and that also made his parents annoyed.
"Okay, fine, go up to you're fucking room and study, don't even think about having dinner with us, you can eat when we're sleeping" his dad commanded and Gunwook nodded.
"Okay" He said and went straight up to his room.

As son as he opened the door to his room, he slamed onto the bed while crying silently and just lying there, motionless.

"If only I wasn't born in this family" He mumbled.
"I wouldn't have lost him" He sobbed out. At this point, he felt his chest feel tighter and couldn't breathe properly.

And just then, his phone rang.
He quickly corrected himself and took the phone in his hands.
《Old and poor, short and ugly, Ricky》

"Why is he calling me at this hour?" Gunwook mumbled but smiled at the call anygay.
He picked the call up.

"Hi" He said and smiled. Ricky was the only person who could calm him.
"Hi~ what are you doing right now?" Ricky asked.

Gunwook wanted to tell him everything just then, he wanted to pour his heart out, how miserable he felt, that he doesn't want to live like this anymore but of course he didn't, he is Gunwook, and that's how he is.
He always keeps to himself, even if it's one of his long term friends, he can just never find the courage to tell anyone just  anything about him that he thinks could cause a problem. Maybe he's afraid to cause problems for that person or maybe he's afraid they would judge him too.

"Nothing really, there's no homework at all" Gunwook said, and somehow, he could feel Ricky's smile on the other line which also made him smile.

"Can you go out? Like right now?" Ricky asked, which made Gunwook frozen, he didn't reply on the phone too which made Ricky worried.
"Gunwook?"
"Wookie"
"Gunwookie?"
"Gunw-"

"Ricky, I'm sorry, my parents are really strict and wouldn't let me go out after dawn" He said. Well he technically didn't lie, but also covered a whole lot of the truth.

"Okay~ that's fine, you don't have to say sorry all the time, it's fine, it was just a question" Ricky said and Gunwook could hear his giggles on the other line and smiled.

"Is it that funny to you?" He said as Ricky continued laughing.
"Totally" He said as Gunwook rolled his eyes.

"Anygays, wanna talk more?" Ricky asked.
"Yas" Gunwook replied, smiling, that he finally had someone in his life that he felt so comfortable with, someone he can talk to.

But just then, he heard his door slam open

"Park Gunwook! Who on earth are you talking to again!?" His mother suddenly came in and snached his phone.

"Oh, is this another friend of yours? Park Gunwook, answer me!" She Said as Gunwook looked down at the ground.

" I caused another problem for Ricky" He thought, feeling guilty.

Meanwhile on the other line, Ricky was confused.

"Gunwook! What happened? Are you okay? Gunwook? Gunwook? Can you hear me? Gunwook" Gunwook could hear Ricky but didn't dare answer to anything the boy said.

"I'm coming over"
