Lan Sizhui woke up to the sound of a gentle snore beside him. He turned around, knowing full well of who was with him. He gently caressed Jing Ling's cheek before getting off the bed to prepare himself for the day. After he was done getting ready, he walked over to Jing Ling's side of the bed and gently shook him.
"A-Ling it's 6. Time to get up."
Jin Ling's face twitched a little. He slowly extended one arm, and without warning he pulled Lan Sizhui onto him. Lan Sizhui did not have time to comprehend this and yelped in surprise as he was suddenly yanked onto the bed.
"It's 6. Stay in bed."
Jin Ling mumled with a tired voice. Lan Sizhui smiled fondly and sighed. He would have to wait until Jin Ling fell asleep again before he would be able to pry himself off of him to go and greet Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian. So he stayed with Jin Ling. Longer than he should have, but he was happy either way.
After a good 30 minutes, Lan Sizhui slowly got up from the bed and lightly kissed Jin Ling on his forehead before silently leaving the room.
Lan Sizhui made his way to the Jingshi, only to find his mother and father already outside. He smiled happily. Although Wei Wuxian seemed to be bickering with Lan Wangji about something, Lan Sizhui could tell that his father was more expressive and more jovial than before, which made him glad and thankful for a lively family.
He walked over to the couple, and Wei Wuxian grinned. "Ah Sizhui you're already up! I was telling Hanguang-Jun how he should've let me stay in bed for at least a few more hours. Especially when he was extremely rough on me last night-" Lan Sizhui coughed awkwardly. It wasn't exactly well known in Gusu about the daily... night activities of Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian. But it was well known enough that people were careful to not cross the Jingshi anytime during the night. Not that anyone would answer the door anyway...
Wei Wuxian burst out laughing. "Alright I'll keep my mouth shut about that" He laughed again. Lan Wangji's ears turned a bright shade of scarlet before fading back to normal. "Sizhui. Wei Ying and I are headed to a town. I would like you to go into the Jingshi and help organize some scrolls. You are dismissed from the classes today. I have already informed xiongzhan." Lan Sizhui bowed. "Understood. Hanguang-Jun."
With that, Wei Wuxian gave Lan Sizhui a quick hug before going off with Lan Wangji to leave for the city.
... This isn't another excuse so that they won't be interupted is it?
Lan Sizhui thought dryly.
He stood there for a while, before heading back to his room where he found Jin Ling up and getting ready for the day. "Good morning A-Ling." He smiled brightly. "Hanguang-Jun asked me to organize some scrolls today so I won't be able to accompany you to class but-" Jin Ling dropped his ribbon. "Let me come with you." He said. Lan Sizhui paused for a moment. Technically, Lan Wangji never specified if he could bring someone with him...
"Pleease?" Jin Ling pouted. Lan Sizhui internally sobbed.
I cannot say no to that face A-Ling and you know it!...
"Alright alright. But hurry up we might be late!" Jin Ling nodded eagerly and quickly finished tying his hair. They only got to the door when they heard a knock. Upon opening the door, Lan Sizhui found...
"Jingyi?!"
Lan Jingyi grinned. "Hiya Sizhui! What are you..." His voice trailed off as he suddenly noticed Jing Ling standing behind Lan Sizhui. "Young Mistress?" Jin Ling crossed his arms. "For the last time it's Jin Ling dumbass!" Lan Jingyi narrowed his eyes. "You!-" A hand suddenly appeared and blocked Lan Jingyi from Jing Ling. "A-Yi this is not the time to fight." Ouyang Zizhen reasoned. Lan Sizhui smiled. "I'm afraid I will not be accompanying you to class today Jingyi. Hanguang-Jun gave me a task to do and so I am excused from class." Lan Jingyi frowned. "Only you? Why can't I come?" Jin Ling stuck out his tongue. "And me!" He grinned. Lan Sizhui just sighed. "Hanguang-Jun didn't specify if I could bring others so I guess you guys can come. But they will be back soon so we should hurry!"
With minor difficulty, they managed to stop arguing and left for the Jingshi.

When the group entered the Jingshi, they were shocked to find stacks and stacks of scrolls piled up everywhere. Lan Jingyi snorted. "Where did all these scrolls come from and how are we supposed to finish everything in time?" Lan Sizhui smiled. "That's why we start working right now, and not talk so that we can finish!" He grabbed a scroll and read, "How To Avoid Death."
. . .
Lan Jingyi reaised an eyebrow. "Oh?" Lan Sizhui just sighed. "Let's just... review all the scrolls and put them into piles. We only have five hours left, so let's use this time..." His voice trailed off as he turned and saw Lan Jingyi chase Jin Ling with a scroll. He smiled internally and sighed externally. "Guys we should start with the organizing?" Both stopped running and finally started getting to work. Ouyang Zizhen and Lan Jingyi were on one side of the room, while Lan Sizhui and Jin Ling on the other side of the room.

Before they knew it, 7 AM had become 11 AM. Soon, Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian would return, making all the juniors focus more on the sorting. Finally, they got to the last scroll. Lan Jingyi picked it up, as the group crowded around him. "Eh? This one says Time Travel!" Lan Jingyi said curiously. "What does that thing below the title say?" Jin Ling squinted, but still couldn't read the line of small words. "Let me see." Lan Sizhui gently took the scroll as he observed the words.
"oh it says: [ ---- ------ -- ]
He never got to finish the sentence.
A sudden bright flash of light appeared, and the Juniors just... vanished.
I wonder. . . what story will be told today...
