Marriage. A big commitment. I thought I'll be troubled with the thought of spending my life with some stranger but unbelievably I was satisfied? After meeting Aryan.
I don't know the man my brother chose for me will be him. And the most embarrassing part is he is the CEO of the company, I thought he was just a newbie employee.
I didn't dare to say anything when he and his parents came to make it official.
Heck I didn't even dare to make eye contact with him until he decide to give me an heart attack.
“If you don't mind I want to talk to her alone.” He spoke looking straight at my brother after they were done with the talk.
Why on earth does he wants to talk to me?
You are the one he is going to marry of course he wants to talk to you.
There are elders here to decide everything. Am I being unreasonable right know. And If I am I don't care. It's just the thought of him talking to me about anything alone bring back all the embarrassment back.
“Shall we?” he asked standing up making me follow suit with a slight nod.
I lead him to the terrace.
Well this is awkward and I am embarrassed.
“You sure you want to do this? Like marry me?” he asked breaking the silence unlike me he is cool like cucumber about this whole ordeal.
What is it with the guys and their confidence.
I just nod fidgeting with my fingers. What are you doing the guy deserve some verbal answers. I chide myself.
“Why?” he asked looking at me making me meet his eyes. They held curiosity.
“Well my brother said you are a good man and he worked for you father for a long time now so he doesn't see any problem in this alliance.” I said with a smile shrugging a little.
“You said yes because of your brother” he asked like he doesn't believe it.
I nod and asked this time “And why are you marrying me?” seriously curious because the guy here is handsome with good dressing sense and a CEO what more a girl want and he also can get any girl he wants so why did he agreed on a simple middle class girl like me.
“Well my father suggest this whole thing and as much as I hate to admit it he is never wrong in his choices. And you seems like a good girl.” he said leaning back on the railing and looking at me intently like he will read everything he can by just looking.
Which made me avert my gaze and set it to the front and hold the railing tight in my fist so I can stop them from shaking out of nervousness. Thanks to his unnerving gaze. “ Do you not have a girlfriend? ” I blurt out without stopping myself and close my eyes in embarrassment. Because a guy like him can't be single for whole life.
His laugh make me open my eyes.
What I asked showing nonchalance.
“You are so cute” he spoke between his laugh which was husky and mange to send tingles in my body and I must be definitely blushing.
Aryan's pov....
I did not know she will be the girl my father choose for me. But I am not complaining. No not at all.
I was satisfied seeing her. Like this was what I wanted since the moment I meet her the first time.
This all feels so right standing close to her, speaking to her and seeing her blush or better making her blush.
“You are so cute.” she managed to make me laugh.
Composing my stance I answered her question honestly because what is the need to hide anything. It'll be better if she hear everything from me then someone else. It'll save us from misconceptions in near future.
“Well I had a girlfriend.” I started gauging her reaction. “I was serious and ready for marriage but she was more interested in my money. She wanted me to became the CEO before marriage and at that time I was neither completely trained nor ready for the responsibilities that came with the position of the CEO. So it ended.”I clear and she was like she wants to ask something more and hesitating for some reason.
“You can ask anything you know. We are going to have a future together so we should be comfortable around each other.” and with that I saw her visibly relax but next second she was again stiff like a stick like she is afraid of the answers I'll give to her questions.
“Do - do you still love her?” she asked hesitantly.
“I don't think I ever did I just found her compatible. She was confident so I thought she will be the one for me.”I answered honestly starring straight into her eyes for her to see the sincerity.
This time I asked “Do you think love is everything in a relationship as important as marriage.”
“I don't think so if someone claim to love you and doesn't respect you, trust you and even try to understand you then love is not enough for things to work out in a relationship as important as marriage.” she spoke with so confident that I almost forgot to blink. She is right. she fascinated me in ways no one ever did she intrigued me by just being herself and I want to be the only person to have the luxury to read her like an open book.
I am not left with any doubt after this conversation that she is the one for me. She is mine and I'll make sure this things stays same.
“What about you?” she asked making me break from my thoughts which was revolving around her only.
Seeing my confusion she spoke again slowly. “For you is love everything?”
“I don't know. I don't believe in love. But for me in a relationship as important as marriage there should be loyalty.”
