Preparing for the trip took longer than he expected. Apparently, it was really cold up north. This stuff called snow was everywhere, and unless you had proper gear, you'd freeze to death! Now they desert got very cold at night but he couldn't imagine that coldness taking form!

Ripp had gone the extra mile to make him a coat for such weather. It was big, heavy and thick. She'd even crushed up rubies and landed the inner fur and pockets with it! She spared no expense in getting him the proper manuals for surviving up north.

But as the due date for his departure grew closer, he grew more and more nervous. Being away from home, especially in a completely new environment, was nerve wreking! What if shaillu needed help around the store? What if those bandits, the Yiga clan, decided to strike!? Who'd help protect the inn and bazaar while he was gone!?

'Relax, Iris, She could handle it before you came. She can handle it while you're gone' looking out across the desert he watched and waited for the sun to rise.

He was nothing but a bundle of nerves and excitement!

"Awake, I see, you really should get some sleep." She said, sitting next to him by the window.

"I know, but -"

"It's just too exciting?"

"Yeah." He leaned on her, and she rubbed his back, "I'll miss you."

"I'll miss you more." Her heart was full and torn at the same time, but every bird needed to leave the nest one day. Eventually, he fell asleep leaning on her, listening to her heartbeat.

When morning came, she gently shook him awake. His things were already packed by the door.

Sitting down across from shall, they ate voltfruit in piece. Enjoying the company of each other before Guy knocked on the door.

"Hey, kiddo, ready to head out? We have to get past that Hinox, and I don't want us to have to take the long way around."

"I am," he shrugged on his backpack and turned to the gerudo women, "I'll miss you a whole bunch, I promise to send letters!" And muttered into his stomach.

"Just promise me you'll be safe," that's all she wanted, "I'm sure Ripp will miss you too."

"And speak of the Devil." Guy muttered as Ripp charged straight at the odd child. Scooping him into a tight hug.

"I'm so glad I made it in time! You'll make us proud, Iris! You are a soilder of the sun! There is nothing you can not do!" She cried, sitting him down.

By then, the whole bazaar had woken up. Wishing to the two safe travels before the sun rose.

As the small group of neighbors watched the odd child and Rito across the desert, Ripp patted the inn owner on the shoulder.

"He' ll be fine."

"I know. " But it didn't make it any easier.

As Iris followed Guy across the desert, the Rito fanned himself with his wings.

"I know it's probably hard on you, but don't worry, I'll take good care of you!" He flapped a small breeze at Iris as they came to the entrance of the Gerudo desert. The Great Gerudo Canyon. With its high cliffs that were beautiful and dangerous. Monsters lurked high and below, waiting to strike from the shadows.

"I'll be fine! And I'll try not to slow you down."

"You won't slow me down, promise! We have all the time in the world, and I'm sure you want to explore as we go." Guy reassured him. The shade from the canyon walls was helpful despite how much wind and sand the breeze kicked up.
