"Yoohoo! Earth to Cleo!" A hand waved in front of my eyes as I suddenly returned to the present. I was still breathing heavy and I realized tears were running down my cheeks. "I guess this definitely proves she did it", he said, a smile crossing his face. He didn't look disgusted at me, like most people did after hearing the news, in fact he looked at me with hope.
The older man nodded. "Show her her new room." A grin spreaded across the son's face as he tightened his grip on my arm. I looked confused at them and for the first time sound was able to come out of my mouth. "Wait! What do you want from me!" The son seemed to be amused by my words. "Wow, the lady can speak."
"I..." He looked at me with a playfull smile. "You'll soon find out what we have in mind for you." He pulled me with him and my voice disappeared once again. We went inside the cabin, it was small and compact.
The walls were just plain white and there was a small couch with a tiny table against the wall in front of the entrance door. Out of this living room three doors parted. One was standing open and lead to a small bedroom with two single beds.
The two other doors were closed but he opened the one on the left. It lead to a tiny room with an iron bed. I saw two chains tied to the bed. I realised they were for me and tried to release myself from his grip. He pushed me really hard and I fell on the bed.
"If you are going to resist, it's only going to hurt more." I stopped knowing that he was right and just sat still on the bed as he tied my hands. "What do you think of your new room?" he asked, while closing the first chain. "Not what you're used to, right?" I looked at him, not willing to answer him. "Fine, don't talk. Doesn't matter to me."
He closed the final chain and stood up, walking towards the door. "Wait!" I said. He turned around and looked at me confused. "What is it? Do you now need me?" I tried to gain some confidence and autority in my voice. "Let me go." He grinned and then walked out of the room, closing the door after him.
Now I was all alone in a tiny room, chained to a bed, with no idea where I was. I sighed and looked at the chains. I tried pulling my hands out of them but that only resulted in pain. As I saw nothing in the room to try and help me escape, I made myself comfortable in the bed even though that was hard.
I closed my eyes and focused on the sound around me. I could hear that they were talking in the room next to me so I tried focusing on their voices in the hope that I could understand it.
"Take of your mask, son, she can't see you right now."
"Sure, dad. When are we going to move?"
"I was thinking, in two days. But I have one question, son, if she has those powers then why didn't she use it on us?"
"I have a theory but I don't know if it is correct. I noticed that she had this special bracelet on her arm with runes on it so I think that the bracelet blocks her powers."
"Yeah, that's possible. At the next stop is a smith, he can probably remove the bracelet but we have to then make sure she doesn't kill us."
"I don't think she can control her powers. I mean the incident of a few weeks ago was probably an accident."
They started to walk around and I could only catch a few words of what they were saying. Those words didn't make any sense and soon I heard nothing else but my own breathing.
Their was a small window in my room and I looked towards it. The sun was rising and the sky looked beautiful. Their were a lot of colors like orange, pink, yellow, blue and a red glow.
While enjoying the joy and warmth the sun brought upon earth, I slightly closed my eyes giving myself over to the darkness that flushed over me.
I woke up and rubbed my eyes. It took me a minute or three to remember where I was. I looked again thoroughly at the room and chains and this time I noticed something in the wall pointing towards the living room.
There was a hole in the wall, it was tiny but still big enough to look through it. I putted my right eye towards the hole and saw the living room.
There I saw the father and son. They were both looking at what appeared to be a map, but I couldn't see of what. They were whispering so I couldn't understand what they were saying. The son wasn't wearing his mask so I could finally see his face.
I had already seen his eyes and mouth, but I quickly noticed a rather large scar running across his face. His snow-white hair stood out the most. He and his father didn't really look alike, he probably looks more like his mom I assumed. Something about him looked familiar, but I couldn't put my finger on it.
I moved my glaze away as they started walking towards their bedroom. I once again tried to remove the chains, but again that only resulted in pain. My eyes lingered on my bracelet for a moment. "Should I do it?" I questioned myself.
It was definitely a stupid idea, but it was the only idea I had at the moment. I needed to try to escape. They were going to use me for something, something including my powers.
I tried to calm my mind. My parents had taught me a way to remove my bracelet on my own and they told me to only use it in emergencies. This definitely felt like an emergency.
I closed my eyes tried to find my powers within myself. I could feel the source of my powers, weakened by the bracelet. I reached for it with my mind, I was almost there and
"Hello," the son said. I opened my eyes and saw him entering the room with his mask back on and the hood again over his head. He was holding a tray with food.
He putted it down on my bed and said: "You must be hungry. Eat." I wanted to disobey and tell him to go to Hell, but I was hungry. The food was bad, like really bad.
The bread was super hard and tasted like shoe (not that I know how that tastes). There was also some sort of cheese on the table, but it tasted a lot like butter.. and I don't like butter.
The whole time he just stared at me eating. It looked as if he was thinking about something, something important and didn't realise he was staring at me, but it was awkward.
When I finished eating, he snapped out of his trance. He just grabbed the tray and went out of the room. Something was wrong, I could feel it. He gave me no sarcastic comment, no grin, no evil smile. Not that I really cared that something bothered him, but it bothered me too.
Not much later he returned. "I am going to take you to the toilet," he said, still looking off. I felt relieved, I was so happy that they were going to let me go to the toilet and that I didn't have to pee in my pants or something.
He went to me and grabbed my chains. "If you try to do something, it will end badly for you", he said with a warning in his eyes. I didn't say anything, but just stared at his hands undoing my chains. When they were of, I felt free and relieved but not for long. He grabbed my wrist and pulled me of the bed guiding me out of the room.
He opened the door that had also been closed when I first came here and led me in. It was a small room with just a toilet, a sink, a little closet, a small window and a mirror. For a minute I was scared that he was going to stay there and watch me go to the toilet, but then he left with one more warning look.
I quickly looked around to see if there was something that could help me escape, but there was nothing. The only thing in the closet was toilet paper and the window was too small for me to go through so I just went to the toilet and washed my hands. I looked into the mirror and took an ugly face at myself.
My hair was all messy and my eyes were standing wide open because of the fear. I shrugged at myself and opened the door back into the living room. The father came in through the front door and I could feel the tension in the air when he and his son locked eyes.
They must have had some argument, I thought to myself. That explained his off behaviour. He turned away from his father and brought me back to my room. He closed the chains and got back up. He was about to place his foot out of my room when he hesitated.
"I'm sorry", he said. His eyes locked with mine and then he left, closing the door behind him. I was surprised by his sudden apology and just stared infront of me for a few seconds before remembering the situation I was in. My eyes slipped back to my bracelet and I started to concentrate on that small spark of magic.
