Everyone loves Kakashi

The Old Crush

It was a quiet and sunny day in Konoha. This story takes place after the Village was attacked by Orochimaru and Tsunade has returned to the village with Jiraiya, Naruto and Shizune.

Kakashi also returned from a mission around that time with Gai and Team 10.

"Kakashi, this is a splendid chance for an exciting match between us. Let's race to the Hokage's Office. Loser will buy sushi tonight."

"Thanks Gai, but I don't think I am up to doing something like this right after such troublesome business."
"Then let's go to a hot spring, it surely will make all the stiffness go away. Warm and relaxing."

Kakashi refused initially, but had to give in to Gai's persistence.

At the Hot spring.

Kakashi was still wearing his mask. Which was something he almost never took off publicly.
It always amazed his students and made them curious as to what is behind that mask. But to his friends it was something they got used to. Only a few parson have seen him without his mask on. That includes his dad, Gai, Iruka Sensei and a certain someone he knew long ago.

As he approached the hot spring he found that almost all of classmates were there. Everyone were gathered outside. Gai, Asuma, Kurnei, Ebisu. Also some other respectable shinobis were also there, like Iruka, Jiraiya, Shizune, Tsunade, shikaku, choza, Inoichi, and many others. They were talking as if were gathered for some kind of surprise. Gai shouted kakashi's name as soon as he saw him. Everyone was looking at him now, even Tsunade sama, the next Hokage. Kakashi felt a little embarrassed.

"Gai, why is everyone here?" He asked.

"Kakashi, do you remember Jeanine, the kunoichi from the Village hidden under flower petals ?" Said Gai, as if he didn't heard kakashi's question.

Jeanine, he heard this name after a decade. But his heart still pounds the same at the mention of it.
"Oi, Kakashi!! Are you even listening ?" Said Gai, as he was looking at his sleepy eye (one eye was covered as it remains almost all the time when he's out), which has suddenly seemed sparkling again.

Kakashi realised that he didn't heard a word Gai said after hearing Jeanine's name. He felt that his heart was beating faster and his cheeks were hot. Is Jeanine really here ? He thought in his mind.
Then after realising that Gai was looking at him he composed himself as he replies, " what did you say?"

Gai screamed in frustration, " why Kakashi!! You always ignore what I say!!"

"Eh ... Sorry... Sorry Gai... I'm sorry... I am just tired and my head seems a little foggy.... Ehh.. Can you repeat what you said.."

His eyes were searching relentlessly for her sight, meanwhile Gai broke the news - "Jeanine is in Konoha and She is to be wed to the Feudal Lord of the Land of Flowersp. As the Feudel lord and Land of Flowers are Konoha's ally she and her fiance, young Feudel lord are invited to attend Hokage's oath ceremony."
Kakashi's mouth seemed like it was wide open underneath his mask. "Wedding !!!"

"Yes my eternal rival!! She is getting married. Also, she wanted to meet all her old friends and give them a personal invitation to her wedding. I think you and I are going to her wedding." Said Gai, beaming.

"Aha..."

Kakashi was shocked. An old crush she was, nothing else, he thought in his mind. Trying to get hold of his feelings and hiding them seemed harder then it should have been.
Gai - "You know kakashi, she looked so elegant today. Just like a princess, no just like a queen."

Kakashi - "Is that the reason behind all this commotion here?" asked kakashi with a curious look.

Gai - " I don't know. I think that some kind of offer was going on here which ends today, I guess that is the reason behind the rush. I just heard about Jeanine from Kurnei and saw you coming, so I told you all this. I haven't asked them why are they all here."
"Oh.." Kakashi tried to act calm.

Then Gai continued his rambling "...Also, it seems that almost everyone has returned from their mission today. Tomorrow is the ceremony you know, first time a lady gonna be Hokage. So exciting !! "

Kakashi -" hmmm..is that so. Okay." After thinking a little he said, "Umm.... Gai... I'm sorry but I don't feel so great right now... I can't go in there tonight"
"Kakashi, what got into you all of a sudden? "
"Nothing but today is just to much rush, I don't feel comfortable with so many people around..."
"Oh come on Kakashi! Don't be shy, your springtime of youth is still in its prime! There is no need to feel shy. Everyone is friend here."
"Gai, but I don't feel like it... I'm going home" he took out his book as he turned around.

"Reading a book at Hot spring ! You are same as you were back then Kakashi san..." Said the women, who seemed to be of same age as Kakashi, her height wasn't same as him though. She must be the same height as Sakura. She had nice, long, black hair which were touching her knees, she had them braided. She was wearing long red Skirt and white, loose shirt. She was looking chubbier than she was when Kakashi last saw her, probably 12 years ago. Still her facial features were looking more  refined.
"...but I am surprised that your reading preferences has changed." As she looked at icha icha paradise he was holding.

"Jeanine !!" Said Kakashi as he hid the Book behind him.
