Just another normal day?

Just the day to change everything.

Jasmine's Pov:
I was walking home from school after just finishing my work from an extra class as my teacher asked to help me out on things I don't understand. Everything today was okay and as usual, boring. I always wanted to go on an adventure, and I don't mean go to San Antonio or South Carolina or something. What I want as an adventure is to fight off creatures from another world or planet and have my friends on my side while doing so to fix the problem. I didn't grow up in a big fancy house with rich parents and spoiled rich-kid friends, No! I don't want that! I don't want anything like that of me.
So here I am, walking home on an oddly quite street of what use to be my loud neighborhood of kind people but I guess today is different?
'What is going on?' I thought to myself confused on why my neighborhood is so quite and...empty? 'Okay! Something is really wrong!' I thought to myself as I ran as fast as I could to get to my house.
Now I shouldn't be surprised to not find my parents home as they should still be at work at this time so I'm just going to see if my younger brother is there from school.
•Time skip to the house•
I quickly dug in my backpack to find my key to the house. When I got my key to the front door, I quickly opened it and closed it behind me. "CARTER! ARE YOU HERE?!" I yelled out for my brother. "I'M UPSTAIRS IN MY BEDROOM!" He yelled out what sounded to be scared and stressed. I ran upstairs as fast as I could while making sure not to trip as I mad wir to my brother's room. "Carter? Are you in there?" I asked from the other side of the door "Yeah... you can come in" he said unsure of himself as if he saw some kind of monster that looked a lot like me. " Okay. I'm coming in" I said as calmly as possible to not spook him into hiding. I walked inside of his room to see him in the far right corner of the room far from the door and what ever other room is connected to it with a tear stained face. "Carter what happened while I was at school?" I asked with concern and confusion. "I saw something outside that didn't look human and it tried to hurt me through the window by the front boor." He said with tears ones again coming from his eyes like a water fall in a forest. "Shhhh. You're okay. I'm here now and I promise that I won't let that thing hurt you." I said trying to calm him down to the best of my ability.
•Time skip to 2 hours later•
I was on the couch watching the T.V with Carter and he had stopped crying an hour ago after I got home. I was really concerned with how long he cried. I asked him if he wanted it sleep and he said he would only if I stayed with him. I said "no" and that we can spend time together to calm down because I wasn't even tired. "In about an hour and thirty minutes, mom or dad should be home. Or even both." I said to Carter as he was watching the T.V still "okay.." he said as he started to fall asleep. As I watched my brother sleep, I got tired even though I was trying to stay awake to greet our parents after the got home but all I felt was my eye lids closing and my vision going dark.

Hey guys! Sorry I haven't been posting much! I started school and I'm really focused on school and coming up with ideas on what to write so I won't be adding chapter everyday or something but I'll try to add characters to the story when I can after school and one weekends. Please do not rush because I won't be posting a lot as some weekdays I will be so tired to the point where I won't post for the night and/or the next night/evening.
