Third Person POV:

Location: Yaeyama Islands, off the coast of Japan.

A group of Japanese explorers ventured deeply into the Jungles of the Yaeyama islands, all of them keen on either getting some good pictures or any sort of good fortune.

The group was currently having a giant rest break, all of them being extremely tired from their travels.

That was when one of the men's sandwiches was stolen by a big seagull. While his coworkers laughed at the misfortune, the man gave chase, not letting the bird make a fool out of him.

The man chased the bird all the way into a cave, where the bird disappeared from the man's sight.

Cursing slightly, the man was about to leave when a sudden glint of light caught his eyes. Curious about this light, the man cautiously made his way deeper into the cave with his flashlight.

That was when the man reached the end of the cave and went wide-eyed with shock.

In front of the explorer was a giant crimson diamond that sparkled with a sort of crimson light. The cave floor surrounding the giant gem was littered with golden scales. The explorer, feeling excited by his grand discovery, dug in his backpack for his camera and jug.

After a few minutes, the man could be seen carrying the giant gem out of the cave with a couple of his buddies. It took a couple of them due to the tact that the gem was the size of a full grown high-school student.

As the men carried the gem and a few of the scales in jars to a nearby cargo ship to be transported to the mainland, the gem shined brightly under the sun, something much more sinister rested within the gem.

Back in the town of Tomoeda:

Fujitaka, Sakura and Touya's father, drove happily in his car with his family. The reason for this happy time was due to the fact that a brand new gem was discovered in some ruins on the island of Yaeyama and was currently being shipped to Towa University, where Sakura's father was going to be one of the few researchers to study this beautiful gem. Fujitaka also wanted to bring along his family to give them a good view of what this may diamond may truly be.

Touya looked outside of the window while Sakura sat in between Yukito and Tomoyo, both of them wanting to tag along for the ride, too. Tomoyo deciding to follow Sakura mainly due to the fact that she didn't want to miss out on another battle between Sakura and a Wild Card.

After a bit of driving, the group finally arrived at the university, which was being flooded by a horde of news reporters.

As the car made its way into the school, reporters began to report their newest stories.

News reporters: Now we're live in front of Towa University, where the newest Crimson Diamond has been shipped over all the way over from the Yaeyama islands. It's estimated that the gem is over a couple of decades old and is probably worth millions.

In a random alley near the university:

Radio: From the gems radiant sparkle and beautiful texture, it'll be a sight to behold once the research is done *Gets turned off*

A figure in an oversized coat smirked deviously before walking off into the alley.

Back in the university:

Fujitaka led his family and group down the halls of the university. After checking in and catching up with some of his students and colleagues, Fujitaka and his family arrived in a special laboratory where the jewel was kept in.

All around the crimson diamond were researchers and professors that were either taking notes or scanning the Jewel. The jewel itself was placed on a steel table with multiple machines around it.
