"Because of one little moment of fate that brought you to me."
-Bliss༺♥༻
The next 5 days were spent in a mindless loop. Hyunjin would get breakfast at a small café, walk around the town until lunch where he would choose a random dinner or get something from a convenience store. Then he would head back to the beach house he was staying in and wait until the sun began to go down before heading to that little beach where he would stay until sunrise.
If he could change anything about being the Angel of death, he would likely make it so he could sleep if he so chose to. Being awake 24/7 can get rather boring. And very lonely.
His eyes scanned the beach for a clear spot away from others. He paid no mind to who was there, just their locations. The people were always different, families, owners and their pets, couples, a runner or two. But one person always remained the same.
The brunette haired male. He sat in the same place he always did, back turned on Hyunjin.
As time passed by and the sun made way for the moon and stars, the beach was void of any visitors aside from two.
The brunette male has been preparing to leave when his eyes landed on the sitting form of the raven haired fallen. For years the brunette had been coming to the beach and was always the last one to leave, but for the last almost week he had company, one who stayed even later than himself. It intrigued him.
The fallen was unaware as the brunette approached him. Too lost in thought to notice the figure taking a seat only a mere few feet away.
"This beach is the perfect place to come think isn't it?"
Hyunjin was startled out of his thoughts. It wasn't because of the fact that they spoke when he wasn't expecting it. No, it was because of the voice itself. The deep smoothness it held. The uncanny familiarity.
He held his breath as he tried to work up the courage to look at his company. He suddenly felt like he was thrust back in time to the funeral. Felt the fear to look because he was afraid of what he'd see.
"I'm sorry, I should have asked before just sitting here... I just... I've seen you sitting here alone for hours the last week... I've never seen you here before though..."
Hyunjin felt like his lungs were going to burst. Slowly he turned to to look at the person who was speaking. In that moment he inhaled sharply.
Had he not already known Felix had been an only child, he would have been certain Felix had an identical twin, and from the fact that it was twenty years later, this was definitely not a twin. From the striking electric blue of his eyes, to the freckles scattered across his cheeks. Those heart shaped lips with their pronounced cupids bow and even his round button nose.
There were only a few differences between the Felix he remembered and this Felix. The male before him had more of a tan, likely from living in Australia, and his hair was longer and brunette. The last difference was the hint of sadness lingering in his beautiful eyes. He looked tired, a tiredness that wasn't fixed from simply getting enough sleep. There was a redness in the whites of his eyes and on the tip of his button nose signaling that maybe he had been crying before.
Hyunjin felt the tears well up in his eyes as he stared at the male in front of him.
Felix look alike suddenly startled at the sight of tears.
"Hey, why are you crying? I'm sorry if I upset you." The worry in the boys eyes made Hyunjin smile slightly. This male even shared the same expression of worry. Eyes wide, eyebrows pinched together, lips slightly parted.
Hyunjin couldn't help the sad chuckle that escaped his throat, his lips keeping their slight upturn.
"I'm sorry, I just- you remind me so much of someone. It startled me."
The smaller boy looked relieved at this statement, a soft smiling coming to his own face. It didn't reach his eyes though, and that pained Hyunjin to see.
"I hope it's a good thing and not one which caused bad memories."
The raven haired male shook his head. He couldn't take his eyes off the other.
"It actually brought amazing memories... don't worry."
The smile the brunette held turned more genuine, still not reaching his eyes, but it wasn't an awkward at least.
"You say I remind you of someone... how so? If you don't mind me asking."
"Your eyes... And your freckles..." He wanted to say everything. He wanted to pull the other male into his arms and tell him how there was no denying that he was who Hyunjin had been just thinking about. But that would likely freak this boy out. It was obvious he didn't know Hyunjin... he didn't have Felix's memories...
Felix look alike brought his fingers up to his cheeks, gracing his fingers across the beautiful constellations of freckles that dance against his skin like the stars that shone above them.
"They had freckles..?" He asked softly. Hyunjin could only nod in reply. His eyes once again threatening to spill tears down his cheeks. All he wanted to do was kiss him and tell him he missed him... but this wasn't his Felix... no matter how much his brain begged him...
He wiped his tears away before taking a deep breath, exhaling slowly.
Neither said a word for quite a few moments.
"What happened to them..?" The brunette finally broke the silence, he wanted to know more. As long as the raven haired male would tell, he would listen. Intrigued about the person this stranger was talking about, as well as confused over the strange sense of comfort he brought to his... a strange sense of familiarity a pure stranger brought.
"He passed away." That's all Hyunjin could say without sharing too much. At least for the time being.
The brunette couldn't help the frown that spread instantly across his features. His heart breaking for the stranger.
"I'm so sorry..."
"Me too... but it happened awhile ago... I'm just grieving... it was the anniversary of the date it happened recently... it's hard around those times..."
The smaller boy reached out, laying a gentle small hand on Hyunjin's shoulder. The skin that made contact tingling between the two. Hyunjin fought every fiber of his being from reaching out to hug the younger.
They were once again silent for awhile. Felix had removed his hand and both stared at the moon above. Hyunjin was casting secret glances to the other, afraid if he looked away too long that he would disappear.
Wanting to hear the younger's voice again, to let the deep tone soothe his aching heart, Hyunjin decided to speak again.
"I'm Hyunjin by the way..." He felt strange introducing himself to the other. It felt like he should have already known.
The bright blue eyes of the Felix clone flashed with slight embarrassment.
"Oh! I completely forgot to introduce myself when I came over, I'm so sorry! I'm Felix." He flashed a smile again, the same pain hidden behind the lies of a smile.
Hyunjin felt his heart race. That finally settled it, if he wasn't certain before, he was certain now... this was Felix... reborn into the world...
Fate really had its way of working...
