With every unreturned message she had sent to Abhishek, Jiya's heart grew heavier as she regarded her phone. She had been writing to him for weeks, sending each message her thoughts, her concerns, and her longing, but all she had received was a resounding silence.
She muttered to herself, "Abhishek," while tightly gripping her phone as if it were a lifeline.
Jiya: Why won't you just reply, I ask?
Jiya and Abhishek, who were previously inseparable, had shared innumerable laughter as well as dreams and secrets. Abhishek, though, had gradually drifted away as the days grew into weeks, leaving Jiya in a sea of uncertainty and loneliness.
One night, the notification tone finally broke the silence as Jiya sat on her bed. As she unlocked her phone to view a message from Abhishek, her heart began to rush.
It stated, "Jiya, I must speak with you."
Jiya's eyes started to flood up with tears, but she quickly said, "Abhishek, I've missed you so much. " a ray of hope appeared in her heart. Possibly tomorrow.
The instant reply from Abhishek was, "I'll come over to your place at noon."Jiya couldn't suppress her joy as the hours passed. Her mind raced with a thousand questions as she practised her speech. What was the reason behind their unexpected separation? Could they make it work?
The following day, Jiya paced back and forth in her tiny living room with anticipation. Finally, the doorbell rang, and she almost jumped to answer it.
At the door, Abhishek was standing. Jiya couldn't quite place the feelings on his face, which included sadness, remorse, and an additional emotion. They gave one other a quick, awkward hug before retiring to the living room for comfort.
"Abhishek, what has happened?" Jiya enquired while focusing on him.He sighed and combed his hair with his hand. I'm getting married, Jiya."
