Having History of Magic as first lesson on a Monday morning should be forbidden by the law. There was nothing Regulus hated more than Mondays, when the sweet calmness of the weekend stopped and turned into stress. And it would've been fine, if the day would start with something enjoyable, like potions or herbology. But no, Dumbledore had to put a bunch of privileged, rich teenagers in a room with a fucking ghost who didn't even try to make them learn something. Regulus strongly believed that if they wouldn't speak directly to the professor, he wouldn't even know they entered the classroom.

In a visibly bad mood, Regulus sat down on his seat in the back row. "Good morning, Sunshine!", greeted him Evan Rosier, who miraculously had enough energy to give Regulus a wide grin. "Please, don't talk to me. I can't stand your voice this awfully dreading morning.", the black replied.

"Aww, don't be so grumpy! Stay positive, and this won't be an 'awfully dreading morning' anymore!", Evan suggested. Way too optimistic, for Regulus's likening. "No. I will use this lesson as free sleeping time. I can 'think positive' after I had a good bit of sleep.", he responded. Evan rolled his eyes, slightly annoyed. "Where will I get my notes from, if not from you, my lovely boy?", he asked. Now Regulus was really done with him. He took a deep breath. "From Tom and stop calling me pet names. I hate that.", he made clear. Evan smiled at him. "Oh, thanks for the tip! But sadly, I probably won't be able to stop using those awful pet names. It's like a curse!", he said, in a way too dramatic tone. "Can you just fuck off?", asked Regulus him, and lied his head onto the pillow on his table. "Of course, I will let you get your sleep, my lord!", Evan laughed at the black. Regulus only hold up his middle finger, then he fell asleep.

Normally, it would take an eternity for Regulus to fall asleep, but with Professor Binns' monotonous voice in the background that was no problem. Also, Regulus nearly never dreamed. And the few times he did, he had nightmares. Not today. Today he dreamed of James Potter. He was talking to Regulus, then they walked through the castle and suddenly they were making out. Just before James took off his shirt, Regulus woke up. The lesson was over.

Regulus looked around, in a desperate try to orientate himself, and to process that he just dreamed of James making out with him. He hated James. James hated him. Their sex had meant nothing, at least not to Regulus. Sure, it had been fun, and he would do it again, but that didn't change the fact that James was an arrogant idiot who bullied first years for fun. To be fair, Regulus did that too from time to time, but he tried to stop it. He wouldn't appreciate being picked on by a guy that was years older than himself if he had just gotten into a new school either. Luckily, he never was in that situation, since he was the black heir, but he imagined it horrible.

Evan quickly interrupted Regulus' thoughts. "Oi, Black, you look pretty disturbed. Dreamed of something, well, kinky?", he joked with a wink. It was obvious he didn't mean it serious, yet Regulus still send him a death stare, paired with a "Oh fuck off, you don't know shit about my dreams!", causing Evan to laugh. "It seems like I do damn well!"

Finally, the bell rang, and everyone packed their bags and ran outside to get to their next lesson. Evan stormed off to go to transfiguration and to find his best friend, Barty, leaving Regulus alone. The boy sighted and walked down to the dungeons. He now had potions, because he was so good in that class, Slughorn decided that Regulus should attend potions with the 7th years. At first, he was happy about it, but as soon as Regulus realized he now was in a class with James and the other Gryffindor's, that happiness was dimmed pretty much.

Regulus chose to sit in the back of the classroom, so maybe James would ignore him. He really didn't want to talk to him after last night. But how the universe wanted it, of course Regulus didn't have two minutes of peace before James walked up to his table and sat down on it.

"Hey Reggie! Didn't think we'd see each other so fast again.", he greeted the black. James' attempt to build a conversation failed terribly. Regulus didn't answer him, he simply rolled his eyes. "Come on, you can't do this to me! I won't survive if you treat me like this!", James tried again. This time, Regulus chose to reply. "Well, I hope you die then. And now get off my fucking table, Potter.", he told him.

Obviously, James didn't do it. "Naw, sorry but I don't want to. I have such a beautiful view on you from up here, baby!", he flirted with Regulus. Unsuccessful. Even though the younger boy tried really hard not to blush, it didn't impress him at all. "Well, itd distract me quite much from my lesson if you'd sit in front of me the whole time.", Regulus attempted to make James leave, but the result was quite the opposite. James leaned down to Regulus and put his hand under the Slytherin's chin. "So, I distract you, huh? If that's the case, I should stay here, I think.", he said with a grin.

Regulus had to admit, James wasn't that bad at flirting. He saw why the girls liked him. Did Regulus like him? No, not at all. Did he appreciate James' tries to get him to like him? Yes. "Potter, it is really quite lovely how you try to get me to like you, but honestly-" He was cut off my Professor Slughorn, who just entered the classroom. "Good morning, Class! Mr. Potter, would you please leave Mr. Black alone and sit down in your seat? Thank you."

Finally, thought Regulus when James sighted and walked to his chair, of course not before winking at Regulus. It wasn't until then when he realized that most of the Gryffindors had stared at the two of them, especially Sirius, who looked at Regulus with a frown. Luckily, as soon as Slughorn started his class, they seemed to forget about the weird conversation between James and Regulus.

During their lesson, James made a point in always walking past Regulus' table at every chance he got, and even when they were working, Regulus felt him staring at him, causing him to slightly lose focus. Either way, Regulus' potion turned out to be perfectly fine. "Everyone, look at the result Mr. Black got! That is how everyone's potion should look.", Slughorn praised him. Regulus saw James nervously looking to Regulus's potion, and then to his own, frowning and looking concerned. Regulus decided to take a look at James's potion, because it couldn't be that bad.

A few seconds later, he knew that it can be that bad. While Regulus's potion had an ocean blue colour with shiny touch and a creamy consistency, James' was bright red with black points in it and looked hard as stone. On his way out, Regulus whispered into James's ear with a grin: "You're such a loser, can't even brew an easy potion."

With that he left James standing there, walking to his common room to see if Barty was already back.
