(apologies if this chapter is bad, lol. I've been trying to bring myself to write after being swarmed with work and not feeling well; I haven't gotten to it until now. I'll likely do some editing when I have more time <3. Sorry for typos) <(9/2/23)

(TW - injury depiction)

Takemichi stared at the picture that sat upon the casket. A familiar face was photographed with different flowers that surrounded it.

"Mitsuya...is dead?" Takemichi muttered as he stood in the doorway of the room.

He couldn't believe his eyes. Was this happening?

"It can't be!" Takemichi thought to himself.

Takemichi then found himself running along some street without knowing his intended destination. His thoughts raced, and he couldn't understand what could have possibly gone wrong in this future.

"There's just no way Mitsuya can be dead!" he thought.

But Mitsuya was dead. He saw it with his own eyes. Takemichi remembered Mitsuya's pale skin as he stared down into the casket.

As Takemichi ran, his breath was heavy; he seemed to be able to breathe barely. The shock and misunderstanding in Takemichi's mind made it hard to think straight.

Takemichi remembered the reports on his phone that he read over.

TOMAN OFFICER FOUND STRANGLED

BODY IDENTIFIED: TAKASHI MITSUYA

As Takemichi continued to run, he barely made the road turns and pushed himself off the walls. Tears began to well up in his eyes, "How could this even happen?"

Takemichi continued to pant as he remembered the other articles.

HINATA TACHIBANA (26) DIES IN POSSIBLE GANG-RELATED CAR ACCIDENT.

Takemichi didn't understand what had happened. When he left the past, everything was fine. Kisaki was kicked out of Toman, and Black Dragon was defeated, so how could the future end up like this?

"Nothing changed," he muttered to himself as tears raced down his face.

As Takemichi continued to run, he could feel his footing get uneven. Tripping over his own feet, Takemichi fell, crashing onto the floor. His phone flared on the floor as well, along with another item.

Takemichi, using his forearms to get up, stared down into the cement of the road. His tears painted the pavement.

"Damn it!" He yelled as he hit his fist on the floor, "Damn it! Damn it! Damn it!" Takemichi sobbed, "Chifuyu! Noato! Where the hell did you guys go!" He yelled.

As Takemichi looked down at the floor and over to his phone, he looked at another item on the pavement. He picked it up and brought it to his face.

"A key?" he muttered as he examined it.

As he picked up the key, it looked familiar to him. The key was silver and had a blue tag that hung from it, "This is the key to that rundown apartment," he muttered.

Takemichi then found himself standing before that old apartment building. As Takemichi walked up to his apartment, he put the key into the door lock and turned the key. As he opened the door, he stepped into the apartment; it was...familiar.
